skipped the studio today (26) after a 30-something woman alleged he
assaulted her at her office back in October... station won't comment
on his employment status... DA won't comment on why she waited this
long...

Something tells me Joel McHale is going to have a field day with this one.

Never liked him. They had a good team with Jodi Applegate and Ron Corning, who were funny, charming and witty, but ratings weren't what they wanted, so they fired Corning and brought in Kelly. Kelly was a stiff who had no chemistry with Applegate and seemed a step or two behind everyone else in the studio - so naturally they fired Applegate instead of Kelly. They then moved Rosanna Scotto off the evening news to take Applegate's place. The last I heard (about a year ago), the moves had almost no effect on the ratings.

Ron Corning is now doing mornings for WFAA here in Dallas. The
relentless promos have been fairly amusing but as I never watch local
morning shows I can't offer an opinion on his performance.

I never did follow up on that with, say, 1010 WINS, but the DN says he
has now been cleared, tho no charges will be brought against the
accuser either:
