Subject: Renewal in the Big D

TNT has renewed "Dallas" for another season -- which leads me to ask, do we reset the season odometer to 2 (like nuWho did)? Or, will the 15 episodes airing next year be the show's 16th season?

It is a reset/reboot since some elements of the original series and
MOWs in the '90s are considered cannon but don't reflect the content
of the new series.

They're calling it a "continuation" rather than a reboot and the
original series continuity is treated as gospel (although there are
internal contradictions to work out) and the events of the movies have
been discarded entirely. For example, in one of the MoWs Bobby Ewing
regains control of Ewing Oil while in the TNT series it's still in the
hands of Cliff Barnes.

That said, I consider this season one of the TNT show and next year
will be season two. I've been enjoying the new series so far but worry
that they've only loaded these characters for one storyline which will
likely resolved by the end of this season.
