*All* EPL rights to going to NBC in a three-year deal starting with
2013-14, at $83 million/year. To put that in perspective, the previous
ESPN/Fox package was for $28 million/year.

I would have to imagine Fox Soccer Channel will shut down (with what
little coverage shifting to Fox Sports One). Comcast has made it
abundantly clear they're going for ESPN's guns. And the sports rights
market bubble grows bigger and bigger.

ESPN continues to hold the Twenty20 rights as well as a couple of the overseas leagues and airs them on ESPN3.

(And I don't give a damn if you were being a smart ass or not: I knew it anyway)

If we know anything about Kevin, it's that he'll drop everything to
watch a test match.

Still trying to figure out if he likes the Twenty20 format -- limiting
cricket play to 20 batsmen per innings, instead of getting 10 of 11 out --
or if it's an affront to the sport, like the designated hitter or the Fox
GloPuck.

(Needless to say, I can't discuss much about cricket, as Beamers are frowned
upon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJgixYRmyYU)

If they enlisted Andy Zaltzman to provide color commentary on cricket,
I'd watch it.

It's official. No subletting rights (as Fox did to ESPN). All games to
be air live somewhere: "About 200 games will be available on the NBC
networks in six time periods on Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the
league’s 10-month season. The rest will be available online or in some
other packages, one of them probably pay-per-view."

That's similar to what Fox does on foxsoccer.com: you can get most of
the matches live online, including those broadcast.
