as you know we have reached an important milestone with our last 1.0.4.4
release. Development now has switched over to 1.1 and 2.0 in parallel.
This is a critical phase we are going through, and we can need every
support by volunteers. Maybe you want to contribute to TurboGears, but
don't know in which ways? In fact, you actually don't need to contribute
patches or code to be of great help. There are a lot of other "heroic"
tasks open, maybe some of them sound interesting for you? All of them
offer opportunities for you to learn TG much better and for all of us to
create a better software and community. You can choose one ore more of
the following tasks:
- Work on the docs (http://docs.turbogears.org/DocHelp)
- Act as mailing list moderator, approving first-time postings
in order to make sure we don't receive spam
- Give "first level support" on the mailing list
- Summarize the threads on the mailing list every month
- Make sure all good answers also go into the FAQ and docs
- Make sure all reported bugs become track tickets
- Categorize all track tickets, make sure they get handled appropriately
- Create test cases for trac tickets to replicate reported bugs
- Help organizing team reviews (via IRC) and sprints
- Improve the TurboGears homepage with fresh design
- Care about TurboGears marketing
If you are interested in taking charge of any of these tasks, please get
in touch with the current project maintainer, floren...@gmail.com.
Thanks for your help.
Yes, we should probably do that on a quarterly base or so (or maybe just
post a link to a Wiki page). We assumed that enough people will already
volunteer after the first call ;-)
