The patch should not affect old projects since it strikes only the
project templates (plus one convenience function has been added which
cannot do any harm either).
Updating the CHANGELOG is already on my todo list, since a couple of
other things have been fixed so we should think about making another

There are some things that are insanely difficult to search for
because the relevant keywords are abundantly more common in a
different context (in this case "class")

I just wasted a huge pile of time trying to figure out how to set the
class of an old-style (non-tosca) widget. Google is not my friend

Wow. I didn't know you could do that. Thanks, Florent, that worked fine.
I still see this as a potential problem though. We get a lot of new users
who aren't familiar with setuptools and/or virtualenv.
Also, it seems silly to have pywin32 as a dependency (even if it is
indirectly, and only applies in some cases).

All of these items are available on the request object:

If you're using the latest alpha you have to do:
from pylons import request
If you're using trunk you can just do
from tg import request
Then you should be able to use the request object in your controllers.

I don't necessarily develop for Solaris specifically, but do deploy
many Python/TG apps on Solaris (10). The company I primarily work for
has both Linux & Solaris servers and our Python based apps can be
deployed happily on either.
From a Python point-of-view, Solaris 10 is much the same as most UNIX/
