Hey guys,

I believe there's an issue with the new Twitter tags code injected automatically into themes before the closing </head> tag by Tumblr.

When creating a new post with a Tumblr block, such as a text post with the content just as "{block:Description}", the permalink page fails to load!

The HTML simply stops rendering when it gets to Tumblr's Twitter tag for descriptions.

I've only encountered this problem this month, previously Tumblr worked fine with such content -- Tumblr's Facebook tags work fine.

Example:

A post with "{block:Description}" was created.

The permalink at http://default-theme.tumblr.com/post/47768520370/block-description fails to load completely, halting at the Twitter tag.

Is there a way to stop this Twitter integration, or remove tags?

All advice welcomed.

The permalink works fine for me. Can you give your OS/version/browser/version and perhaps clarify/screenshot what you mean by "fails to load"?

It appears to be working for that specific example now. But I tried another HTML sample in a new post:

<p>This is an example of some code: <code>{block:Hello World}</code></p>

(See http://default-theme.tumblr.com/ for a post with this updated sample)

This reproduces the same problem I've tested it on Chrome 26 and Firefox 20 -- Windows 7.

The browser simply stops rendering the HTML (image at http://i.imgur.com/ICpiBvo.png). A screenshot of the source code is at http://i.imgur.com/jIE3k05.png?1 notice how it stops loading at line 1006 (where Tumblr's starting the new Twitter card integration).

It could be that Tumblr is incorrectly escaping characters in some types of posts with the new Twitter description property that is automatically added to each theme...
