announce that during his visit to Eurpoe, Arun Gupta will be able to
give a presentation about GlassFish here in Berlin. Arun Gupta is a GlassFish Evangelist focusing on Web Tier at Sun Microsystems. He was the spec lead for APIs in the Java platform, committer in multiple Open Source projects, participated in standard bodies and contributed to Java EE and SE releases. He is a prolific blogger with numerous useful tips at http://blogs.sun.com/arungupta.
Project GlassFish and the GlassFish application server The GlassFish Community is building open source, production-quality, enterprise software. The main deliverables are an Application Server, the Java EE 5 Reference Implementation, and the Java Persistence API Reference Implementation, TopLink Essentials. GlassFish v1 was the first Java EE 5 application server available, with a focus on developer features. The successor, GlassFish v2, adds enterprise class features and will be followed by GlassFish v3, the next major release of the GlassFish Application Server currently under development by the GlassFish Community. GlassFish v3 has a modular, lightweight, extensible architecture. The goals are to provide the following:
As the release of the GlassFish v2.1 and v3 are appraoching, Arun's visit in Berlin will offer the possibility to get insight into the Project and take a look ahead at what can be expected from upcoming releases. The talk will be in English and last about 1,5 hours plus Q&A. Berlin.jar - die erste Java-Konferenz in Berlin!
Im September ist es so weit und zum ersten Mal findet in der Hauptstadt eine Java-Konferenz statt. Auf dem Gelände der FHTW werden am Samstag und Sonntag, dem 13. und 14. September 2008 über vier Tracks zwei Tage lang Vorträge und Labs gehalten. Am Samstagabend wird dazu noch gemeinsam gegrillt. Alle relevanten Informationen über die Vortragenden, die Vorträge, Call for Papers etc. gibt es unter http://berlin.jar.jug-bb.de/.
