Version 2.0 is now available for testing.
http://eyes-free.googlecode.com/files/tts_2.0_rc00.apk

There aren't that many changes; this is essentially a bug-fix/future-
proofing release to address a problem that will start to bite in the
next version of Android.

Slight update - fix for devices still on 1.5
http://eyes-free.googlecode.com/files/tts_2.0_rc01.apk

If there are no complaints, this will become the actual release very
soon.

Official release for 2.0 has been pushed.

This is the same as RC01.

I posted a question on Android Developers and someone kindly pointed
me to this thread.

My initial question regarded TalkBack on a Droid running 2.0.1; it
does not read the titles or messages in AlertDialogs. I've tried the
version you linked to above and after switching TTS Service Extended's
Default Engine to eSpeak TTS, it now speaks both the title and message
of a dialog.

However, it does not speak non-focusable TextViews on my activities.
Is there a key-stroke or some other means of getting TTS to read the
entire screen?
