国外的客户选定了Pentaho作为BI替代方案，在网上下载了biserver-ce-2.0.0.stable 、biserver-ce-3.5.0.stable 版本，
登陆WEB客户端，发现都只有New Report, New Analysisi,没有 ETL和data mining的工具，不知有没有人研究过这个软件，
怎么个情况，ETL和data mining都需要单独去下载吗？

不必吧，我记得安装目录下有的啊，在\pentaho\design-tools里面
貌似，你下的是收费版本的吧，CE(commercial edition)?

用个Pentaho，有data mining的必要吗？弄几张报表出来都不错了，不用那么高的要求！

pentaho里面整合了一个开源的数据挖掘叫weka,我觉得现在所谓的这种“一站式”解决方案没有几个灵的，还是，把需求拆分一下，不同的需求选用不同的东西应对，
最后搞个portal整合到一起就行了，当然前提是你们的IT TEAM足够强并且领导敢于担责任，否则就别用什么开源的，找个商业的得了。

kettle拿来做 etl，以前用过，能用，但是问题也不少

pentaho 的etl工具就是原来的kettle，现在叫 pentaho data integration。可单独下载：http://

http://pdi.itpub.net/ 有不少kettle的介绍。

pentaho 的etl工具就是原来的kettle，现在叫 pentaho data integration。可单独下载：http://

收费版本？在http://sourceforge.net/projects下载的，看大家都是下载的带CE的版本啊，
ETL的工具包是pdi-ce-3.2.0-stable.zip，
不是开源的免费软件吗？你们都用啥版本的，现在在国内项目有用这个的吗？效果咋样？

Pentaho的服务器肯定是需要证书的，Pentaho现在主推的是收费的企业版，经常收到他们的宣传邮件，你可以到其官站上看看。
感觉他们现在政策模糊。

用过开源的，觉得那玩意不怎么好用，最主要的是错误信息不详细，无法准确定位问题。

服了这个Pentaho，相同的一个数据库，在kettle里能连上，在user console里就连不上，报以下错：

Error connecting to database [ORCL] : org.pentaho.di.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException:

oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

oracle数据库，主机地址，数据库名，端口号，用户名密码，通过native(JDBC)连接。
哪位知道咋回事吗?
