Folks,

 

For those following the long debacle of the Feed In Tariff here is the latest news (apologies to those who already know this):

 

·         There will be a 5p solar PV FIT tariff cut: from 21p to 16p per kWh effective from 1st August

·         There will also be 5 year reduction in FIT payment duration: falling from 25 years to 20 years.

·         That works out at a 35% cut in subsidy earnings from a solar PV installation.

 

Ironically this has lead to a buying rush and even an increase in the cost of parts as they have run out. Remember that to qualify you have to have a home Energy Performance Certificate of grade D or higher AFTER the installation is completed.
