Volunteers with a truck are needed to move a generous furniture donation from a downtown office to TSAS.  The furniture must be moved by Wednesday, October 31.  Please contact Liesa at lsm...@tsas.org if you are available to help.

If anyone has items to donate, has an idea of an item to be acquired, or actually has acquired something for the Serenade Night Silent Auction, please contact Genny Williams, our PTSA president, who is in charge of acquisitions for Serenade Night.  She will take the information (or goods) and meld it into her very comprehensive list of Silent Auction items.  In so doing, it will assure the proper handling of items so generously donated to TSAS by caring Tulsans.  Serenade Night is scheduled for this Saturday, November 3 and will be held on the TU campus.  Genny's email is genn...@hotmail.com

Senior and Senior families:  Please plan to attend the Senior Family Meeting tomorrow, October 30 at 7:00 in the Kaiser Library near the corner of Hudson and 51st Street---by the tennis courts.  At this time you will receive a check list of what to expect for Graduation.  You may pay the $75.00 that covers your expenses of Graduation including your diploma and cap and gown.  We will address your questions about Graduation.  Join us!
Seniors:  Representatives from Jostens will be at TSAS on Wednesday, November 28 at 11:55 in the GYM.  At this time you will be given information to order your caps and gowns and announcements (graduation invitations).  ALL Seniors need to be present for the explanation of the ordering process.  Concurrent students and Tech students MUST make arrangements to attend the November 28th meeting.  This is the ONLY meeting with Jostens to order your cap and gown.  If you miss this meeting, you must check the Graduate Services web site to avoid any late charges, and YOU become responsible for ording your own cap and gown.   Remember:  ALL Seniors must have caps and gowns to walk at Graduation.
 
Juniors: Representatives from Jostens will be at TSAS on Thursday, November 29 at 12:05 in the GYM. At this time you will be given information to order your class rings.
 
The Jostens representatives will return on Wednesday, December 5 to pick up orders for both juniors and seniors.

The Speech and Debate team is looking for staff and teacher volunteers for a pie-in-the-face booth for Fall Festival. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Okapal or Tim Wise.
 
The TSAS dress code will apply on Halloween. Remember the TSAS Dress Code requires that shorts and skirts must extend to fingertip length (even if tights or leggings are worn underneath).  Shorts and skirts must be long enough to cover thighs and derriere – even when bending over.  Tops must have wide enough shoulder straps to cover all undergarments. Spaghetti straps do not meet these requirements. Shirts must cover backs, shoulders, necklines and midriffs. Sleeveless shirts for men and women must have conservative arm openings.
 
Attention all students:  The Advisory Group Halloween door decoration contest is officially underway!  Advisory groups have until Wednesday, October 31 to complete their door decorating.  Judging will take place after lunch on Halloween.  Have fun!  Be spooky!  And creepy!  
   
Garden Club is collecting used milk cartons.  Please put yours in the marked receptacles or bring to Ms. Block in room 13.

Clarification: the Garden Club is collecting small milk cartons leftover from breakfast and lunch.  Please put them in the labeled boxes or bring to Ms. Block in room 13.

Toastmasters is hosting an 8 week Youth Leadership Program at the Thornton Family YMCA Thursdays from 6:30-8:00.  Participants will learn to overcome nervousness when speaking before an audience, organize and present ideas logically and convincingly, listen carefully to others’ ideas and offer advice to help others improve their speaking and leadership skills.  There is no cost to attend.  Please see Ms. Block in room 13 for more information.

The items needed are a filter- preferably a penguin emperor 400, a glass lid- 18''x36'' and a 36'' aquarium light. Good news! The TSAS rock climbing club is starting up. We will start next week. If you have any interest, see Ellen Stackable or Steven Sharpe today. Come by Ellen and Asher's room at lunch to pick up some information. If you have never climbed before, we will teach you! If you are a climber, join us! We will go once a week to New Heights Rock Climbing Gym. The cost is $44 a month which includes lessons, gear, and shoes. Such a deal!

Thank you to all who made it out to Serenade Night~ what a fabulous groups of talented youth we have and an incredible, supportive community! We truly appreciate all the hard work and volunteers who made it a success!
Do you feel inspired to help with the next awesome event? We are now recruiting for our Phoenix Gala, so be part of this inaugural experience and share your gifts- we can't do it without you! Anyone interested in being involved, please join us at Mod's Coffee and Crepes on Wednesday, Nov 7th at 4pm (we will be there until 6pm at least). You can also email cecilia....@gmail.com.

Attention all 9th Grade Parents:
Ellen and Asher are sending home grade reports for World Studies on Tuesday with all the freshmen. There will be a final exam in World Studies on Wednesday, which is worth 20% of the trimester grade and they wanted parents to be aware of this. It is an open note, open text essay exam, so it is vital that students come to class Tuesday and Wednesday with these notes and texts. The readings and notes are over: Herodotus, Thucydides, Socrates' Apology, The Odyssey, and Medea.

Good news! The TSAS rock climbing club is starting up. We will start this week. If you have any interest, see Ellen Stackable or Steven Sharpe today or tomorrow. Come by Ellen and Asher's room at lunch to pick up some information. If you have never climbed before, we will teach you! If you are a climber, join us! We will go once a week to New Heights Rock Climbing Gym. The cost is $44 a month which includes lessons, gear, and shoes. Such a deal!
 
There will be a Key Club meeting this Thursday during lunch in Madame Doss's room to talk about our Fall Festival booth. 
 
This is the FINALS week for the first Trimester. English and History finals can be given on either Wednesday or Thursday. Math and Science finals will be given on Friday.
 
ATTENTION STUDENTS REQUESTING A SCHEDULE CHANGE
Procedures are the same as last time (at the beginning of the school year). If you would like to change your schedule, please sign up one time on the sign-up sheet outside of Mary's office.  Numerous students are requesting schedule changes and credit checks this session, so be patient!  Thank you for your patience as Mary works to see every student on the list.

 
We Are TSAS t-shirts are now available for sale in the fishbowl.  Cost is $15 each (larger sizes 2x and 3x are $3 extra).  If your size is not in stock, we will be taking PREPAID orders until Thanksgiving Break (through November 20).
 
Today's lunch choices include slow roasted beef with brown gravy or turkey, bacon, spinach, gouda whole wheat pita. 
 
AFD Aquarium services has generously donated a salt water aquarium to us but they are short a few supplies to get it up and running. The items needed are a filter- preferably a penguin emperor 400, a glass lid- 18''x36'' and a 36'' aquarium light. Contact Rebecca Block (rbl...@tsas.org) if you are interested in donating these items.
 
Seniors:  Representatives from Jostens will be at TSAS on Wednesday, November 28 at 11:55 in the GYM.  At this time you will be given information to order your caps and gowns and announcements (graduation invitations).  ALL Seniors need to be present for the explanation of the ordering process.  Concurrent students and Tech students MUST make arrangements to attend the November 28th meeting.  This is the ONLY meeting with Jostens to order your cap and gown.  If you miss this meeting, you must check the Graduate Services web site to avoid any late charges, and YOU become responsible for ording your own cap and gown.   Remember:  ALL Seniors must have caps and gowns to walk at Graduation.
 
Juniors: Representatives from Jostens will be at TSAS on Thursday, November 29 at 12:05 in the GYM. At this time you will be given information to order your class rings.
 
The Jostens representatives will return on Wednesday, December 5 to pick up orders for both juniors and seniors.

Thank you to all who made it out to Serenade Night~ what a fabulous groups of talented youth we have and an incredible, supportive community!  We truly appreciate all the hard work and volunteers who made it a success!  Do you feel inspired to help with the next awesome event?  We are now recruiting for our Phoenix Gala, so be part of this inaugural experience and share your gifts- we can't do it without you!  Anyone interested in being involved, please join us at Mod's Coffee and Crepes on Wednesday, Nov 7th at 4pm (we will be there until 6pm at least).
