COSI RESTAURANT NIGHT has been rescheduled for this Friday, Feb. 5 (tomorrow) from 5:00-9:00 pm. Please plan to attend. A large percentage of the profits for the evening will come back to TSAS. Students!! Come to Cosi night this Friday from 5:00-9:00 pm and enter a drawing to win a "cuts in the lunch line" card. You don't need to be present at the time of the drawing and two of these rare cards will be given away, no purchase necessary.
1. Starting next Monday, You will have an opportunity to make up your tardy detentions every day after school for two weeks. Detentions can be served from 3:00 to 3:30 any day of the week. If you serve all of your detentions before the end of the session, your tardy count will be reset to 0. Please take this opportunity to get rid of your detentions. Detention this Friday is mandatory for any student that received a notice this week.
2. We have news from TSAS’s own—Noah Blankenship! For those of you who do not know, Noah received a full scholarship to attend Eagle Rock School in Estes Park, Colorado. Eagle Rock enrolls young people from ages 15-17 from all over the United States in an innovative, nationally recognized residential school. Noah began classes there January 15th. He is currently on a 28 day backpacking trip in the Superstition Wilderness of Arizona. He can receive mail during resupply stops. He said he would LOVE mail from his friends and teachers! 3. To all students interested in being a part of the Literary Journal class next session! Your essays for admission are due this Friday by 3:00. Turn them in to either Ellen Stackable or Mr. Stallings.
4. Today, Feb. 4th, the TSAS Key Club will be packaging food for the earthquake victims in Haiti. Meet in Madame Doss' room after school to carpool. All are welcome to join us!.
5. The TSAS Orchestra will present Haydn's String Quartet in D minor Op. 76 No. 2 in its entirety on Tuesday, February 16th 7:00 at the Hardesty library. All are invited to join us for this masterpiece.
6. SPIRIT WEEK! Keep bringing Kleenex and copy paper! So far we've collected 85 items, so you've earned 2 dress-up days. If we collect 200 items before next Wednesday, then we'll get to dress up all week long before Snowball!! Watch the snowman on the Lunch Bunch bulletin board to keep track of how many days you've earned.
7. The TSAS Board of Trustees meeting will be held this coming Tuesday, February 9th, from 5:30-7:00 pm followed by the TSAS PTSA meeting from 7:00-8:00 pm. See you there!
8. The school-wide Snowball Dance is Saturday, February 27, and volunteers (especially from parents of Juniors) are needed to help provide snacks, such as crackers, cheese, cookies, popcorn, and drinks. We cannot accept homemade items. If you'd like to volunteer, please call Gina Butler at (918) 814‑0564.
