1.            The TSAS Jazz bands invite you to their performance on Thursday March 11th at 7:30pm at Memorial Auditorium. Both bands will perform with the Memorial Jazz Band as well and the admission is just your spare change. The time has changed from 7 to 7:30 and jazz students don't need to arrive until 6:30.

2.            Correction: Mr. Brumfield has set the record straight. The last day to buy your yearbook for $45 is this Friday. After March 12 the cost will be $50.

3.            Come join the Key Club in reading to the residents of Parks Edge Nursing Home tomorrow. We will meet in Mrs. Doss's room after school and walk next door together. We will be back at TSAS at 4:00. All are welcome!

4.            National Art Honor Society will meet at lunch (11:55) in the art room!! Be there!

5.            Attention senior writing mentors!  The freshmen have a writing assignment which they need you to edit tomorrow (Thursday). They will be looking for you!

6.            We will begin a new session of rock climbing the week after spring break. This may be our last session of the year. If you have never tried rock climbing, now is the time to learn. Please see Ellen Stackable for information and release forms.

7.           TSAS PTSA is looking for a few committed involved parents to be nominated as officers for the upcoming school year 2010/11.  We are in need of a Vice President and a Secretary.  If you have an interest in being nominated to either position, please email Karen McMillan at kmcm...@swbell.net.  I will be glad to give you more information once I know you are interested.  There will also be other committee opportunities available, so if holding an officer position isn't for you, one of our committees may be just the place to shine!  More information on committee positions will be coming over the next several weeks.  TSAS PTSA plays an important role in getting the word out to the community about TSAS, providing Lunch Bunch for the students and for providing funding for the school and its events.  I would LOVE to hear from you!!!

8.          Please join us on Monday, March 22, 2010 for the annual TSAS Town Hall meeting at New Haven United Methodist Church (flier attached).  Current students and parents, as well as newly accepted students and parents are welcome to attend.  Find out why students choose to attend TSAS over other public high schools and why our teachers choose to teach at TSAS!  Find out what is expected of our students (and parents), and see how you can be involved to make the TSAS community as successful as it has been and will continue to be for many years!  Enjoy the rockin' sounds of the TSAS Jazz band!  We look forward to seeing you Monday evening, March 22 from 7 to 8:30 pm. at 5603 South New Haven Ave.

9.          We are in need of volunteers to commit to bring cookies for the Town Hall meeting reception on March 22 from 7-8:30 pm.  Please contact LeAnn Dykes at leann...@cox.net and let her know how many dozen cookies you would be willing to commit to.  We will need approximately 12 dozen store bought cookies for this event.  Thank you in advance for your help!  Karen McMillan President-TSAS PTSA
