Trekkers
will travel via air to Albquerque on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2009.
You will spend the night in a hotel. Trekkers will then travel to
Philmont via bus, arriving before noon on Wednesday. The expedition
begins Wednesday afternoon, July 29, and ends on Monday morning, August
10. Trekkers will arrive back in San Diego on Wednesday evening.

We estimate a total expense of $1500 (including travel, lodging, food,
and fees) per participant. This is an estimated total. Because gasoline
prices have at large impact on our travel expenses (air and substantial
bus travel), we will not have exact fares until Winter.when travel
companies will issue their 2009 prices. We are working to secure air
and bus travel early and to take advantage of special deals to keep
costs as low as possible.
Please notify Lynne B. or the Scout Master
as soon as you are aware that you cannot attend. I will work with the
Scoutmaster to fill your spot from the waiting list and from other
troops. Please be aware that any payments you have already made will
have been used to reserve trek spots and to purchase for
non-transferable travel fares. Unless we can fill all reserved spots,
we may not be able to refund any part of the payment(s) you have
already made.

This first Philmont fee is used to hold your place for the 2009
Philmont trekking season. Be advised that this payment is
non-refundable (see below). You may bring a check to the regular scout
meetings between now and the due date or contact Lynne B. to make other
arrangements.
This is a challenging trek, and you will need to participate in 4 to 6
troop treks in the coming year, to continue to build your high
adventure skills and experience.
