Our rulers are neglecting tribals. They are not bothering about social and economical problems of tribals. Only naxalites are doing some thing for tribals. In tribal areas naxalite activities are more because they are having good support of tribals.

Deforestation effecting tribal economy

Some tribals collect forest produces and sell them to traders. Some types of forest produces are having good price in market. But deforestation is reducing forest wealth. Increase of population and smuggling are causing deforestation. Smugglers are freely cutting forests by support of corrupt officers and politicians. Timber smuggling should be strictly checked. Kondh (Jatapu) tribe

Kondh is a tribe which is mostly seen in central and southern Orissa and Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts of Andhra Pradesh. They are also called as Jatapu. That tribe is also having own language which looks close to oriya and telugu. In that tribe gender discrimination is less. They dont accept dowry. They do remarriage to widows. Occupying lands by non tribals in tribal areas

According to 1956 act in Orissa non tribals should not purchase agricultural lands or any other property in tribal areas. In southern Orissa majority of the extent is tribal area.
