Child Portrait Photographer Assistant

We are a franchised division of a national company. Our target market is
day cares, preschools, and private schools and while we also do older
children, we specialize in infants to five-year-olds. You must love working
with young children! We are a seasonal business and our next season starts
on September 6th and we will be working nearly every day just up to before
Thanksgiving.
You must be extremely reliable and never call in sick or be late. The time
you are scheduled is the time you must be here plus 5 to 10 minutes before.
We have commitments to our customers that were made several months to a year
in advance and they can not be changed or broken. You must be available
every week during this time, Monday through Friday as scheduled.
The assistant position requires working with my wife and I very closely as
part of our team. You would go to the classrooms and gather the children,
enthuse them and bring them into the room where we are taking pictures. Once
there, you will groom the children, comb the hair, straighten the clothes,
and just get them ready for the poser and the photographer to take the
pictures.
The environment is high paced, energetic, and fun. Most of the time you
will be kneeling down on the children's level or sitting on a stool. The job
is physical and requires a high level of energy. Must be young at heart.
We start our sessions early in the morning, generally between 6:30 and 9:00
a.m. Our goal is to be finished by noon and with travel time; we generally
are back at our office between noon and 1:00 almost every day. Our assistant
will meet at our office in Apex, near Lake Wheeler as early as 6:00 am.
That way everyone helps load and un-load the equipment and we can discuss
the days shoot and make sure we go in as a team. You will be paid from the
time you are scheduled to arrive at our office until we return after the
shoot.
When we return after a shoot, you may be asked to help package proofs and
orders, and on occasion drop off the proofs at a school on your way home.
