I am building a house near Jordan Lake and am looking for a landscape
designer/architect to draw up a plan for my lot. It is 5 acres and
mostly wooded, but I would like some flower beds and natural areas
planned. I want to do the installation myself, so I am only looking
for someone to design a "master plan" for me to work from. Any
recommendatations/warnings are appreciated.

Susan Downing at Designscapes (872-2141) did a wonderful
job for me. She will also do 'partial' installation,
meaning she can have her crew dig and ammend the beds
and have them ready for you to do the planting.

You might want to try Lynn Hoyt. You can get in touch with her at her
web page at http://www.pagesz.net/~lhoyt Her web page is a work of
art, too!

I have used Lynn Hoyt and can readily recommend her... She is from the
Apex area I think... not far from Jordan Lake.
I had 3 acres of woods before Fran... now I have wide open spaces... I
will be implementing most of her ideas.
