NEW RIDE DEBUT

This is to announce the debut of a new ride. Actually it's an old ride
being revised with a few twists. With Dave Meyers earning a well-deserved
rest from leading weekly Saturday rides, Jeff Petrinitz and I want to get it
going again. So we will be the co-leaders. We'll call it Lenny and Jeff's
Recovery Pace Ride. (Ok, not creative I know)
We plan for this to be a "recovery" ride of 30 - 35 miles. The pace will
average around 15 mph. But all paces are welcome. There will be cue sheets
available for you to print through the Ride With GPS link that will
accompany each ride announcement. Announcements will be posted on the
Thursday before the ride. We will try to keep it reasonably flat by riding
primarily south and east of town. We'll vary the starting points
occasionally and try to keep things interesting.
It will be a good ride for adding miles without hammering. We all won't
necessarily stay together but will re-group as much as possible at stop
signs and lights. You can have some different goals and still enjoy this
ride. It will be a good ride for beginners too.
This is not a no-drop ride but we will account for everyone at the end and
at the pace we are designing the ride for, no one will be too far behind.
We won't ride if it's too cold (40 or below) or raining. The start date
will be February 18th which is one week from this Saturday so get it on
your calendars. Through the remaining winter, we'll start at either 11 a.m.
or 1 p.m. depending on the temperature and move it earlier as things warm
up. Although we'd welcome your input if you have a preference on the start
time.
