The longest running (20+years), self-perpetuating group ride in Guilford County, once known as the Airport Ride, the Tuesday FMR has a huge reputation for devouring riders.  Posting average speeds reminiscent of the TdF, that crowd takes no prisoners.  But here’s the thing no one’s told you:

they’ve got the flattest route ever mapped in Guilford County.

This wasn’t true back in the Airport West days.  That route climbed every hill between Oak Ridge, Summerfield and NW High School.  But when the ride moved to the Farmers Market, someone rerouted the loop, and it is AMAZING.  I’m holding Andy-Howard-Allan-Charles-BillK personally responsible for never telling me that this route exists, and that it automatically adds a minimum of 1.5 MPH to your average.  Freaking amazing…in a 30 mile loop, 20 miles of it is F.L.A.T.

So, I’m calling all our Wednesday Night Peeps and all other B & C class riders - out to the Farmers Market this Sunday at 1:30p to hook up with Carl Priddy’s Ride, so you too can F.L.Y!!!  Seriously, I’m upset they never told me about this route.  Every cyclist in the county needs to make this loop, just to see how good they really are, when they’re not busting butt uphill all the time.  Carl's got a good group of riders; they don't bite.  Nothing like the Tuesday night legend.
