Hello all,

A number of you have had questions about the hotel accommodations for this trip, so I asked Peter Thomson to provide website links for each and a brief description. I think you’ll like what you see! Let me know if you have any other questions about the trip.

Cheers,

Duncan

P.S. I already have at least four people committed to the trip (in addition to myself), so if you’re seriously considering it, don’t wait too long to send in your deposit! There are only 24 total spots to fill!

Here are links to the hotels:

The Hotel Picors is a basic 2-star hotel. We stay there 1 night on our Trans-Pyrenees trips and we'll be staying there 2 nights on our Tour de France Pyrenees trip this year. It's super-functional, it has a huge private car park in front of the hotel, there's a private room for the bike storage. The rooms are basic but clean, reasonably sized and each room has large bathroom, shower etc. Meals are typical French and work well for cyclists. It's in a fantastic spot - half-way up the Col de Soulor/Aubisque. We have a great relationship with the owner and it's probably the hotel we use most during the year.

Hotel Pons is a family owned 2-star hotel in St Lary. The owner is Madame Pons who's probably in her 70's and takes no crap from anyone. The hotel is super-clean, and well organized - the rooms are basic with full bathroom/shower. It's also in a great location - within a 5 minute walk from the centre of St Lary. Meals are simple French syle - good for cyclists.

Both hotels are simple 2-star hotels but they both work really well. We've never had a problem with either.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Peter
