It has been a few years since high school art classes. I am
wanting to enjoy the gentle art of watercolour painting again.

What are the best brush sizes to have in my kit bag?
Any good mail order companies for supplies (Remember, I am out in that
limiting postal code!) 8-)
Best paints to include in the palette (Brand and colour)?

Any good books to refresh technique via self-study?

Thanks for any information and advice.

The best brushes to buy are Kolinsky Sable. Good sizes to start with are a
number 12 (for washes), No.6 & No.2 (for detail work) The paints i use are
Rembrandt Artists paints, student quality is fine to begin with but change
a.s.a.p. If you use a lot of water, I do and it's wonderful, use a
heavyweight paper such as Bockingford 260lb, it will not buckel when you wet
it. Books, My advice would be to visit your local library and "look before
you buy" the artists who inspire you are the ones that will stay with you...
A few of my favourites... Rowland Hilder, Edward Wesson and John Yardley If
you would like to visit my web site for a bit more info
