How is it supposed to be installed on Linux?

Hi,

I downloaded the latest version of TreeSheets, untargzipped it into a
local "apps" directory.
When I run it, it starts but complains that it can't find all the
images (in "/images/.." or something).
And indeed, all the pics on the buttons are missing.

Is this a Linux issue or because the way I "installed" it is wrong?

Regards,

Frederic

TreeSheets can be run from any folder on any OS, it has no special
requirements. If it can't find its files, that probably means that
something went wrong unpacking the archive. Make sure it got
unarchived with the correct directory structure, and no files failed
to unarchive. You should be able to run the exe from the directory the
exe is in.

hum... yes, apparently, if I "cd" to the exe directory, it finds its
images. Could it be modified so that it can be run from anywhre?

This is pretty much how most applications function that are not
installed as part of the system. I wanted to make sure users can
install treesheets anywhere.

Couldn't it load the resources using the path of the launched
executable as the root? That would remove the need to explicitely
cd to that directory.
