Flamenco palos contained in barcodes

This is somewhat off-topic but it's a case of "saw this and I thought of TravelSpain" as it is about Flamenco and an initiative to promote it.

The story QR codes deliver the Flamenco experience

is about how a company based in Granada province has created barcodes that play nine different Flamenco palos when scanned with a decoding device - including mobile phones.

Unfortunately all my current mobile phone is capable of is making and receiving calls but this is propelling me into the 21st century.

Although to be clear what the barcodes are actually decoding are simply URLs (web addresses), which take you to mp3 files stored on the flamencopatrimoniodelahumanidad.es website, and which are also playable directly from here:

Flamenco was successful last week in obtaining UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage status.

Hi Roger
Thanks for that link I am now enjoying the palos without having to wait for my new phone to arrive.
The fact that they are MP3 files means they are well  worth a click.
Did you have to download an app to discover it worked?

I already had a barcode scanner app installed, which is great for reading all types of barcodes, including QR codes, ISBN numbers, etc.
