I guess it depends on your definition of "existing" - and "DM". For
me, "existing" does not require being "market-ready". Many DM
ventures have protoytpe vehicles that have undergone some significant
testing. Examples are Blade Runner (UK), Dualmode Vehicle (Japan),
Intelligent Multimodal Transit System (Toyota, Japan), Monomobile
(USA), Railbus (Netherlands), RUF (Denmark), Rinspeed (Swiss), I
think 2getthere (Netherlands) could produce a market-ready product
fairly quickly (maybe already has done so). MicroRail is apparently
ready to demonstrate its driven version in the near future.
There are other concepts that have no prototype vehicles (that I know
of) but have done significant concept and, design and development work.
I think it would be helpful if people recognized the significant
diversity among these efforts instead of lumping them all together
and expecting others to understand what they are talking about.
That's a problem I have with Ed Anderson's DM critique.
