The City Council has reverted to the so-called 'Transit City" plan, which would put everybody within a 2-mile walk of a streetcar line. Mayor Ford doesn't like the "war on cars" and wants to build subways. Only 40% of Council agrees with him.
This man is a mover, but I don't think he knows anything about the possibilities of newer systems, and I have not attempted to try to educate him. A business group is already trying to fight against the streetcar plan, but the group fighting the St Clair Avenue plan a few years ago got nowhere. If anybody wants to forward info to him, or this business group, I will send contact info. I am thinking of doing this, but it is wide open if anybody else wants to try.
One short line, anywhere in the City, would be all we need to open eyes.
