Greetings!

I am excited to share with you three developments in my professional and personal life. I am contacting you today to provide an update on: Citizens for Personal Rapid Transit (CPRT), my university coursework, and my completion of that coursework.

For those of you who do not want to read paragraphs, here are the main points:
- I am the elected chair of CPRT as of November 2010.  See the attached flier and join today at www.cprt.org.
- I am writing a major research paper on PRT in India.  Contacts, connections, resources, and knowledge are much appreciated.  See my blog at http://prtvisions.wordpress.com for updates.
- University graduation is quickly approaching, and I can't wait to work for YOU beginning Monday, May 9, 2011.  Salary negotiable (or optional).  Will travel.
Contact me at wal...@gmail.com or 952.215.5451.  Thank you.

Now to the readers of the group:
I was elected chair of Citizens for Personal Rapid Transit (CPRT) on November 17, 2010.  Due to the philosophy that it is better to enter quietly until there is something to say, this is my first large public announcement of this position.  Today, I feel there is something to say as we have begun a membership drive and have made much forward progress this winter.  I have included our newest publication, which provides updates on 5 Minnesota-based firms working toward the goal of PRT implementation as well as our upcoming events.  We will be promoting the PRT industry to transportation students and recent graduates at the University of Minnesota's Center for Transportation Studies "Transportation Career Expo" this Tuesday, March 1.  CPRT will be informing businesses, lawmakers, and community members of the benefits of PRT at the Neighborhood Sustainability Conference and Expo the beginning of April.  In May, the Living Green Expo usually draws large crowds at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.  You can find CPRT online at www.cprt.org.  We have just added online membership capabilities to our website.  Contact CPRT at prt...@aol.com.  You may print and distribute our brochures freely.

I am completing my capstone courses at the University of Minnesota and will graduate with my Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies on Friday, May 6, 2011.  For my degree, the thesis project is a one-semester 20-page research paper.  My thesis topic is Personal Rapid Transit in India.  I have begun a blog to update you on the progress of this research and more broadly my professional life in PRT.  My blog can be found at http://prtvisions.wordpress.com.  As stated above, contacts, connections, resources, and knowledge are very appreciated.  I can be reached by phone or email 24 hours per day.  (The joys of college life, no working hours.)

With the completion of my undergraduate coursework, real life is quickly approaching.  Given your experience and expertise, perhaps you have some advice for me.  You may even be aware of professional opportunities.  Salary negotiable (or optional).  Will travel.

I look forward to working with you to make PRT a reality.

May I make just one suggestion and that is to set the outgoing message type size on your e-mail software to either 12 or 14 so that people can read your messages without eyestrain.  Then perhaps, people might bother to read them.

I can set the font size on my incoming messages, but this thing I use is about 20 yrs old. It works on my newer one also, so that can't be the difference. Maybe you have a Mac.

As a matter of fact, I do have Macs and they work just fine. The
text of your message is large enough to read. I can also set the font
size for outgoing messages, too and set it large enough for people at
the other end to read.
