An interesting read for Christmas...

We have bought some of these low energy LED christmas lights. They
only consumer 2W as opposed to the older set which consumes 18W. Only
problem is that my partner has installed all 4 sets old and new, all
over the house and on an outside tree .....

The small PV array which we installed this May generates well when the
sun is shining in mid winter, enough to power the dishwasher and
washing machine in the middle of the day. Am I a PV nerd? Does anyone
care?

I have generated 3,500Kw from my solar panels so far, I installed them in October last year. 

 It really cheers me up not just that it is a sunny morning but I'm generating CLEAN power, would love to buy electric car next.

 It for me is a nobrainer when you think of how polluted our air is. 

 Such a pity that this government has reduced the FIT scheme just when the idea was catching on.

Hi Joanna,

I like electric cars and they sound cheap - except you have to replace
the batteries periodically. Also i dont like the idea of winter
driving and turning the heater on - it can dramatically reduce your
driving range.

Yes PVs are fab - if they are charging your electric car this is good.

Charging a car from fossil fuelled power stations is not such a great
idea.

I am still waiting for my first FIT payment cheque..
