A simple, easy way to reduce fuel poverty is for the Government to
ensure that the PV FIT tariffs are not reduced so much that Housing
Association Schemes (such as in Maidenhead) can go ahead on the large
scale that is possible. Many of these schemes are stalled awaiting a
government review of the FIT.

UK Fuel Poverty on the rise

25% of households in England and Wales are now in fuel poverty, up
from 20% last year. Fuel poverty is defined as when more than 10% of a
households income is spent on heating and power. The figures provided
for Consumer Focus show it is unlikely that the government will meet
its legal duty to abolish fuel poverty by 2016. The major cause of
this increase is the recent price rises where costs went up by as much
as 18% (British Gas) in a time when most incomes are frozen. Fuel
