Subject: Introductions
Hi,

I thought it would be good as Transition Town Aylesbury is getting off
the ground to introduce ourselves both to each other and also to
potential members. So I will get the ball rolling.

I live in Aylesbury and teach ICT at Pebble Brook School on Churchill
Avenue.

I am a husband and a dad who enjoys running, sailing and scrambling up
mountains.

It would be great if we could use this mailing list / discussion group
to develop our interest and also to link up with other local groups
that are already focussed on energy, environment, and carbon emission
issues.

Please feel free to invite people you feel would be interested, and to
introduce yourself by way of reply to this email.

Many thanks.

Regards,

Joc

Hi all

Good idea Joc.

I live in Aylesbury but work in Oxford, where I am a publisher of Christian
books.  My primary interests are gardening and fishing, reading and enjoying
our Wii Fit.  I also play a part in our local Anglican church, where I
preach from time to time.  Between us my wife and I have seven adult
daughters, and a grandson making an appearance very shortly, so family
matters play a big role in our lives.

I have been keenly interested in the environment for many years, but only
felt I could make a difference when I came across the Transition Town
movement.  Many environmental activists have grown slightly despairing in
recent years, because governments and businesses have so often failed to
listen.  I find the TT concept a real ray of hope: this is something where
ordinary working bods have a chance to make a lasting contribution.

I look forward to seeing how the group develops.  We could make a real
impact on Aylesbury.

Tony Collins

Hi All,

I am one of three Community Development Officers at the Vale of
Aylesbury Housing Trust and we heard about the this initiative at the
Green Fayre in Aylesbury town centre a week ago. I do not want to list
all the initiatives we are involved with, I just want to say the Housing
Trust was created to help serve our residents as a collective. As some
of our residents support this initiative so do we. Should any of the
members feel we can be of assistance please let me know and look I
forward to joining the journey as this group grows.

Regards,
Brett Douglas
