"The choice you are making today is what side are you on".- TD
Bidder 70 centers on an ingenious and effective act of civil disobedience protecting land from oil and gas drilling. In 2008, University of Utah economics student Tim DeChristopher committed an act which would redefine patriotism in our time- igniting a spirited movement- and which challenges us in the present to redefine justice, and our role in achieving it, for ourselves.
Discussion afterward lead by Lynn Dash, of the Climate Change Action Team. She says: Tim acted with the understanding that climate change is a burden on the shoulders of his generation. What can we do to slow down Business as Usual of fossil fuel dominance? What is our obligation to stand up for the climate in which civilization developed? How does the history of civil disobedience apply to what some term, the greatest moral & ethical challenge of our time?
