Search GTFS Data Exchange by map

To the people who run the GTFS Data Exchange:
Thanks for such a useful repository of GTFS data.  To make it easier to search the data geographically, I would love to see a map you can search to find the agencies that serve your area of interest.  This would be enormously helpful if you're not very familiar with the area you're going to be studying and need to know which datasets to download.  Thanks!

Incidentally, when I try to visit Google's list of cities covered by transit data, I get a 503 error.

And then I found this map: http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/transit/
I can zoom to an area, and I see marks on the map, presumably each representing a transit agency that provides GTFS data to Google.  However, I click on the map pins, and nothing happens.  I can't tell if something is supposed to happen, but it sure would be nice if a bubble opened up and said the agency's name and gave a link to their website.
