Hi all,
It looks like a couple of major feeds have gone missing over the last
month.
Szeged is an FYI. Based on a contact there it looks like work
restoring the feed is underway.
How about Long Island Bus though? MTA's web site (http://mta.info/
developers/download.html) does not list LIBUS any longer and the
download link (http://mta.info/developers/data/libus/
google_transit.zip) is unavailable. Does anybody know what is going on
there?

Effective January 1, 2012, under a contract with Nassau County, Veolia Transportation has become the operator of Long Island Bus routes and Able-Ride services formerly run by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Customers can find information about Veolia Transportation by visiting www.nicebus.com; however, after a quick search of their website, I cannot seem to find the GTFS feeds. I do think they exist, especially because they are still in the trip planner, but I have had no luck finding them (http://www.nicebus.com/Maps_and_Schedules/Trip_Planners/index.html)

Thanks Don, that's news to me.

I went to see if I could find the contract, and indeed, here it is:
http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/documents/584-11pt1.pdf

I could not find that Veolia was responsible for posting GTFS feeds,
so it looks like they are off the hook unless the contract is amended
accordingly. It seems to me a request for Veolia to post GTFS feeds
would have to be submitted to the Nassau County Bus Transit Committee.
That was supposed to be formed to oversee Veolia's performance on the
contract. And submit reports to the County Executive on a quarterly
basis. With that said - I could not find office contact information,
committee members, meeting minutes or any evidence that would indicate
that this committee exists. Hmm... Somebody else please check and if
that's the case I guess a step up the food chain (the office of the
County Executive http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/agencies/CountyExecutive/index.html)
would be the right contact then to find out how to reach the Transit
Committee. Not that I wouldn't do that, but I live in California and
somebody actually living there and perhaps riding the bus would
probably have a more credible play in placing such inquiries I
guess...

I would submit the request to Customer Service or Nassau County. The
committee hasn't been formed yet. I don't know what the GTFS is as it
appears to be using the same stops as Long Island Bus (no rerendering
on Google Maps) but it has the wrong url (nicebus.org instead of .com)

URL fixed, committee formed. If all else fails, try FOIL:

Thank you Sunny,
Just as a note. Although used with success in the past and serving
even, shall we say, educational purposes, I consider FOIA requests as
an avenue of last resort.
