I've noticed lately that there are alot of GTFS feeds with multiple agencies operating at the same stop and it's a little hard to distinguish which operator's routes there are from another. I was wondering if having some sort of agency logo before a route at a stop would be possible or something like {agency} Bus/Rail services available at this stop or station.

Example

MAIN ST & MAPLE AVE

Operator: Agency X
Routes: 1, 2, 3
Operator: Agency Y
Routes: 4, 5, 6

Schedules
Agency X: 1 to Downtown 12pm
Agency Y: 5 to Uptown 12pm

Some GTFS license agreements limit how the the agency logo may be used in 3rd party services.  The agencies reserve their logo as a way of marking agency-provided/official information.

I believe that both TriMet and BART have included this in their license agreements.  I have not looked at other license agreements.

All trademarks, service marks and trade names ("Trademarks") of TriMet used herein (including, but not limited to, TRIMET, MAX, TRANSIT TRACKER, THE NEXT BIG THING DOWNTOWN and QUICK DROP, the slogan "SEE WHERE IT TAKES YOU" and the TriMet logos (see below)) are trademarks or registered trademarks of TriMet and may not be used in any manner that is likely to cause confusion, or in any manner that disparages or discredits TriMet. The TriMet trademarks may not be used in connection with the products or services of others, except for the use of a text link or a TriMet web logo to link to this site, in accordance with these Terms and TriMet's linking policy. MBTA's T logo is used on their subway and rail stations. I think they had some sort of thing set up to where Google could put their logo within the stop details. Even if it isn't an agency logo, maybe some sort of marker or highlighting could be used to distinguish multiple operators at the same stop.

I agree that it's useful to separate services by the brand or operator.

Also, I actually do like the idea of using icons in some ways.  I was just sharing a potential issue there.

True. Seeing as how more and more agencies are providing GTFS data feeds, there will come a point where you need a way to distinguish services provided by these operators. Both operators could have the same route number but the only way to tell is the headsign or in some cases, the colors used in the routes.txt file.
