Just a note to add to the installation file when the Django branch will be published.
It's necessary to install the tagging SVN version and to apply this patch:

If you addhttp://code.google.com/p/django-tagging/issues/detail?id=110
from django.conf import settings
settings.configure()
to setup.py it will fix the error you are getting.
