Speaking for God?

Where do we draw the line between opinion and bigotry? Is that line
shifting, i.e. blowing in the wind? Or is it set in stone?
I=92m thinking about this today after reading an article on ESPN.Go
about Nebraska assistant football coach Rob Brown
<http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7896560/nebraska-cornuskers=
-assistant-coach-ron-brown-says-job-safe-curb-anti-gay-stance>
, who has been pretty outspoken with his views against homosexuality.
He recently made headlines after speaking out against a proposed
anti-discrimination LGBT law in Omaha.
Many people believe God is opposed to LGBT lifestyles.
Of course, it is their privilege to believe what they want about God.
But, considering that such beliefs are just that, beliefs, and that
many people do not share such exclusionary beliefs, should people be
allowed to continue speaking publicly against LGBT lifestyles? Is it
discriminatory when they do? Will it some day be considered a crime to
publicly criticize LGBT people based on one=92s belief in a supernatural
entity?
The possible crimes one might be accused of as a result of public
anti-LGBT views: inciting hatred, bullying and/or violence, slander,
hate crimes . . . to name some.
Sigh . . . If I were going to base my life on one religious text, it
wouldn=92t be the Bible =97 it would be the Bhagavad=92Gita. But that=92s m=
y
thing . . .
Peace and love
Jillian
