Police Searching For Murder Suspect
PORTLAND - Police are searching for a suspect in the May 4 murder of
51-year-old Frank Johnson.
FrenchNorth Precinct officers were called to the 5700 block of North
Kerby Avenue on reports of a disturbance. Police found Johnson's body
inside the apartment.
During the investigation, detectives determined that 48-year-old David
Wayne French jumped from the third story window as police were forcing
the door to the apartment open on the night of the murder.
It was later revealed that the victim died of blunt force trauma. At
the time of Johnson's death, he and French were roommates. Johnson was
reportedly attempting to change their current living arrangement,
which may have played a role in the homicide.
Police issued a warrant for French's arrest Tuesday charging him with
one count of murder. French is transgender who also uses the name
Zalia Crizta or "Z." French is approximately 5'6" and 130 pounds with
shoulder-length brown hair.
Until recently, French maintained an Internet business and has
multiple connections in the western states.
