Look at this picture, and answer my question, why is the sign of your
church satanic occult symbol, which is used by Adolf Hitler himself,
who was killed in the name of Lucifer half of humanity..?

I'm confused, what is that a picture of?

The picture makes perfect sense (not). It's the grammer of the accusation/question which is perplexing.

He is comparing a nazi winged disk to the winged wheel of the MTA. If
I were a crazy conspiracy person I'd say they both have to do with
aliens. @.@

OK, I get that.  What's the semiology (like etymology, but for symbols) of the winded wheel? Wikipedia says it represents "progress"... so that makes sense... But when did it start being used as a symbol for progress? Wheels didn't have spokes until the Middle Bronze Age (says wikipedia) so a spoked wheel with wings couldn't have happened before then.  The winged wheel does look a lot like the winged sun symbol for Horus, and later Ra so maybe the one evolved into the other.  I'll betcha Freemasons were involved. They always are.

Lincoln, did you select that symbol? When did whoever selected it learn that it meant "progress"?  Where did you see it before deciding to use it for MTA?

The voting members of the association selected the logo among various options presented at the time. It is indeed intended to invoke the idea of progress, as well as the combination of biology and technology, and perhaps even an allusion to Ezekiel's vision in the Old Testament.

Here are some of my comments about this topic over on the fb group.

I talk about this sort of issue in some depth here: http://amateurscriptorians.blogspot.com/2009/06/language-of-symbolsm.html and here: http://amateurscriptorians.blogspot.com/2009/06/language-of-symbolism-continued.html.

Notice that under the logic of Dragan Micic, Moses was a devil worshiper for borrowing from pagan Egyptian symbolism when revealing the Israelite temple ritual.

You can't respond to everyone who complains, but this issue of symbolism is important enough, that I would have sent my response above to him, if you hadn't removed the email address Lincoln you sly dog you. Oh well. Forward my response if you want.

In this case, the wheel symbol is from the Mormon pioneer heritage ("put your shoulder to the wheel"), while the wings were most likely chosen to symbolize transfigurism, or "rising above", thus "transhumanism."

The wings spread like this truly is an ancient symbol, used all through Egypt as a symbol of protection, and in Judaism as a symbol for the Shekhinah. The fact that the Nazi's borrowed this (far older) symbol, and perverted it, does not mean that the symbol now refers to them, or to their ideology whenever anyone uses it from then on.

Actually, the swastika primarily referred to the turning of the wheel of the heavens in Hindu and Buddhist iconography. I didn't mention that because it wasn't so much an issue for our symbol, which has the wings and the wheel, not the swastika... although I guess you could argue that we are using the wheel in place of the swastika, since the swastika did refer to a "wheel" of the heavens.

I like the additional thoughts on the symbolism of the MTA logo. Thanks, James.

Where did the idea for a winged wheel come from? I'm interested in the
motivations and inspirations of the MTA logo's creator.

The logo creator was a friend of one of the founders of the MTA. She's not a member of the MTA, but we described the MTA and asked her to come up with a couple dozen options. She did that, and we narrowed it down to a few that most persons seemed to like. Finally, we voted on it. The second place logo incorporated a beehive.
