Bike to the Future meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 at the Eco-Centre (3rd floor MEC building at Portage & Donald). Anyone is welcome to attend.

BttF founding member Tim Hunt has passed away

We are saddened to learn that Tim Hunt passed away suddenly on Sunday July 26th.

 

Tim was a founder and active member of BttF.

BttF rep needed on the St Vital Ped/Cycling Bridge Study

The City of Winnipeg has initiated a committee to study a new pedestrian/cycling bridge that links the UofManitoba and St Vital. We are looking for a member to represent BttF on that committee. Monthly meetings starting on September 9th will be held in south Winnipeg. Please contact us if you are interested in this or would like more info.

Muddy Waters 100 (Green Leap Forward)

Green Leap Forward is a new umbrella initiative to encourage people to participate in physically active events and to try active transportation. Join thousands of Winnipeggers as they take a green leap forward.

The Muddy Waters 100 ride (now in its 15th year) has been added to Green Leap Forward. This ride has been greatly expanded this year with the addition of Habitat For Humanity and a start/finish location at The Forks. There will be rides of 25K, 60K, 100K, and 100 miles. Many hundreds of cyclists are expected to join the 200 that participated last year when the event was held outside the city and had much less promotion.

Speak Up Winnipeg

Speak Up Winnipeg is the City's public forum for Winnipeggers to express their opinions about the future of our City, and how we can ensure it is sustainable, making Winnipeg a leader among cities.
 
Please go to the Speak Up Winnipeg website and post a comment about the need for more cycling infrastructure and cycling initiatives to make cycling in Winnipeg a safe, enjoyable, and convenient transportation choice.
