Subject: Bug spray
I'm looking for recommendations for a bug spray that's:
1) odorless as possible
2) not gooey or sticky
3) preferably doesn't have Deet (which eats my watch crystal)
4) lasts for a couple hour long bike ride
5) and keeps as many types of bugs away as possible.

Hope that isn't asking too much?????
Thanks in advance...
Doug

For the none deet bug rep I would recomend vitamin cottage or a
natural food store.

Just ride faster! :-)

Seriously the only bug sprays I've found that don't contain deet and work
are very fragrant, actually they stink pretty bad. My wife just brought
home a spray for our dogs and horses that doesn't smell to bad, kind like
dish soap. but I haven't tried it yet so can't vouch for it's
effectiveness. it is supposed to be super safe and non-toxic. Brand is
EQyss check it out at eqyss.com and as a bonus it even says it can be
used on the saddle area!

Good luck,

Scott

I found the best one is a bug spray I get from REI or a natural food store. Its made with lemon and eucalyptus oils. Awesome stuff. consumer reports rates it one of the best. Definitely works better than Off or the other popular brands. Cost is about $7. Other problem is finding it, sells fast. Used it canyoneering in UT. NO-SEE-UMS..NO-PROBLEM they hated it. A bit overpowering when spraying on but goes away. Best part is BUGS hate it, Koala's love ya! Plus if you have a stuffed up nose it will open you right up!! So it has multiple uses.

Slight correction: Repel is made with oil from the lemon eucalyptus (
Eucalyptus cittriodora )  :-)

And yeah, it seems to work.
