Hi,

It was suggested on IRC that perhaps we have a BoF during the PyCon
conference proper. This would let us catch up with Trac people not
staying for the sprints.

What do you all think?

Also, if people aren't aware, Matt Good is organising a TracSprint [1].
Please add yourself to the Wiki page if you are planning on attending.
Should be fun :)

Alec

PS. Attention John Hampton - you should attend PyCon. Don't be a wuss :P

All for it.

Ah, apologies Eli, I mistakenly attributed the creation of the sprint to
mgood, but I see from my mail archives that it was you :)

I'm there, just as soon as some nice person pays for my air fare[1]

The wonderful powers that be have shined down on me and blessed me with
their goodness.

Due to this blessed turn of events, I will be at PyCon[1]. So, shall we
have a BoF? I'd be happy to schedule it and head it up.

Unless I hear some convincing arguments to the contrary, on Monday I'll
get the ball rolling for a Trac BoF.

[1] Looks like I get to avoid wussiness for a little while longer ;)

OK, Time to nail down timing.

Any preferences? Now's the time to chime in.

I chimed in on IRC, but to repeat myself:
Since a lot of people are likely to fly out Sunday night, and the OLPC project
has something Saturday night, Friday looks like the day to me.

Trac BoF is now officially on the PyCon schedule for the Bent Tree III
(got a nice ring to it, doesn't it?) on Friday beginning at 7:30. I
intentionally left the closing time open. I figure it will come down to
when they throw us out.

Look forward to seeing all you PyCon bound Tracsters [1] there.

[1] in the spirit of Open Source naming, are we Trac-sters? Trac-istas?
Trac-ers? Trac-onians? ;)

OK, sorry for the noise.

Slight change in agenda. Going to be getting together for dinner before
the BoF.

See all the gory details at

For further updates, read those pages.

Finally, any Texans out there have recommendations on restaurants?

Since the schedule has dinner down for 6:30 anyway, I suggested we
could head out for a pre-BoF dinner somewhere. Maybe meeting in Bent
Tree III at 6:30?

Sure. I have a friend who lives a few blocks from the hotel, so I got some
suggestions from him. There are a number of restaurants on Beltline, on
either side of the tollway. I'll try to put something together with
locations and general info; we'll want options during the sprints as well.

For the pre-BoF dinner, I was thinking Tex-Mex would be appropriate; y'all
will be in Texas after all. (The fact that Tex-Mex is my favorite food group
has nothing to do with it. ;) ) I really like El Fenix; quick service, good
food, great chips & salsa.
A review: http://www.restauranteur.com/elfenix/
Example menu: http://www.restauranteur.com/elfenix/menu.htm
Their <rant>annoyingly Flash-requiring</rant> website is

It's East on Beltline: 5280 Beltline Road, Dallas, TX
