NEW YORK - A secret office operated by the CIA was destroyed in the terrorist attacks on
the World Trade Center, seriously disrupting intelligence operations. The undercover
station was in 7 World Trade Center, a smaller office tower that fell several hours

The vaults below the complex that was the World Trade Centre were a vast and secret
place. Not only did they hold some of the world's largest gold depositories, but they
were home to stashes belonging to the CIA and secret service.
Seventy feet below ground is an array of goods that includes bricks of cocaine, fake
taxi cabs used for covert operations, bomb-proof state cars and security files meant for
the eyes of the CIA only - nice booty for potential looters.
As Brink's-Mat security vans brought out Dollars 200m (pounds 137m) of gold from a
safety store below 4 World Trade Centre, which was on the east side of the ruined
complex, it emerged that someone had tried to get into the vaults, no doubt with robbery
in mind.
Two weeks ago a security guard spotted scorch marks on a basement doorway which had not
been noticed by a patrol team a few hours before. Behind the door were thousands of
tonnes of gold and silver. It looked like someone had used a blowtorch and a crowbar and
it prompted concerns that they may try to do so again. Video surveillance systems have
now been installed.
As they dig amid the rubble, recovery workers are uncovering corridors and gangways that
lead to the cavernous vaults below. The 16-acre basement has enough square footage to
fill a building of greater proportion than the Empire State building. Engineers and
recovery officials say that large parts of the underground storage rooms are undamaged.

Since September 11 very little has been said about the treasures that lie below what has
become a mass grave. But down there are piles of old furniture, a mountain of Godiva
chocolates, stacks of illegal assault weapons, as well as jewels and more gold and
silver.
Beneath the customs house - 6 World Trade Centre - was a fleet of government vehicles,
including dozens owned by the secret service. The cars were kept in a sealed-off area,
part of which was a garage which housed a single armoured limousine used to carry heads
of state and dignitaries visiting the city.
The building also housed an office of the CIA containing drugs, weapons and contraband
seized by customs officers. The bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms also lost two
evidence vaults, according to a spokesman.
"There could be several hundred weapons - somewhere between 200 and 400, ranging from
small-calibre semi-automatic pistols to assault rifles," he told the New York Times.
He said agents plan to be on the scene when the remains of the building are demolished
some time in the next two weeks. "After that, we'll be working at the landfill to search
for any missing items."

I have been struck by the lack of threads on this subject at freerepublic, so I thought
I'd wake this one up and see how attentively it's being monitored.
The defenses offered against the long list of peculiarities of the 9/11 event are
growing ever more spectacularly peculiar and laughable. Now that the collapse of wtc-7
from fire has become so laughable they don't even try any more, we hear from Silverstein
that he and the NYFD decided to demolish the building after all. Pretty amusing that the
FEMA investigators didn't think to ask the owner or the NYFD, before publishing their
"report" suggesting that it was an unfathomable mystery.
This event, as vetted, is preposterous from teeth to toenails. A bunch of ignorant
fundamentalist ragheads with a few hours of flight training did not party at topless
bars, and then steal 4 airplanes, using razor blades as weapons, navigate across several
states, and launch a precision attack.
The greatest crime scene of the century was not unceremoneously cut up and hauled away
for public safety. It was cut up and hauled away because some federal authorities did
not want or need a criminal investigation. The culprits were pre-determined.
Federal police with no foreknowledge that this would happen did not determine who the
culprits were within a few hours of the event.
A preposterous technical paper, preposterously unrefereed, explaining the collapse of
the buildings was no more prepared over the next 2 days, than the Patriot Act was
written in the following week. Pyroclastic flow, indeed. What a bunch of rubes. The
Dresden fire produced the temperatures in question--the buildings were a great deal less
up to code, and if you will look at the pictures of the most uniform non-atomic
flashover in history, you will see bearing walls, with and without twisted steel
reinforcement, going up 10 or more stories that are still perfectly intact. Fire does
not pulverize granite or brick. We build ovens out of this stuff that maintain
temperatures higher than proposed in that bs ASME paper.
The only reason people believe this is that they are too comfortable, and watch too damn
much tv, which has rendered a country that used to be full of toughminded engineeers
into a country full of smug marshmallows.
That was a set up to get us into a couple of wars that were in the planning stage long
before the ever-so-useful, and not very devastating, events in question, without which,
these planned wars could not possibly have occured.
And now, said marshmallows are sitting around clacking their tongues, avidly, while
pretending to be horrified to look, over the torture pictures using the same miniscule
portions of their "brains" they have been employing on the rest of this nonsense.

leaves us largely uncrippled, but perfectly ready to roll over like beaten mutts once
again and give over the rest of our constitutional rights. Everyone raise their hands
who think it's perfectly reasonable, 3 years after the event in question, that our
federal defenders haven't been able to figure out how to insure an abundant available
supply of smallpox vaccine in the hands of civilian doctors?
Everyone raise their hands who thinks it's perfectly reasonable that NORAD should sit
with its thumb up its butt for 83 minutes, 40 of which are after a co-ordinated air
attack on two buildings. What, exactly, are we paying them all this tax money for? To
surrender to an enemy as efficiently as the world has ever seen?
Not that I care that much any more. This country will get what it has earned, good and
hard and often, by raising tail to murky ambitions within the federal government every
time it scratches itself. Not unlike what happened to Rome when the Praetorian Guard
version of the CIA ran the world.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, there were $167 billion dollars in gold bars in
Federal Reserve vaults in the basement of the World Trade Center.
Since the destruction of the twin towers, there has been much speculation as to what
might have become of all of the gold.
A female caller to the Bill Bochiers radio program on WLW, Cincinnati (11-06-04) told of
a report from her friend who worked at the WTC. The friend said that on the morning of
9-11 she was on her way to her job at the World Trade Center, along the route she
normally took. As she turned a corner at the base of the Center, she saw two large flat
bed trucks parked at one of the entrances. One of the trucks had already been loaded and
had its contents covered by a large tarp. The second truck was in the process of having
its bed loaded with stacks of solid gold bars.
Both sides of the street were lined by black uniformed troops with machine guns who kept
an eye on the operation and on the surrounding area.
The bewildered woman kept a distance from the activity and watched as the second truck
was loaded, and its contents covered with a tarp. The two trucks were then driven away
with the soldiers traveling along as escort.
The woman was so stunned by what she had seen that she turned around and did not report
to work that morning, which, as it turned out, most probably saved her life when the
towers were attacked and destroyed only about an hour later.
NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE?
- I doubt they'd let the gold bars be visible to people strolling around the area.
- They would have shipped it out days before and not the morning of the attack, and they
would have done it in small quantities easily moved and protected instead all at once.

my sources are military. There was no gold removed in the clean up, and it was

The panel I was on were stunned speechless after my presentation. The woman to my left,
Kristina Borjesson, stood up and looked at me, "Jesus Christ, I had no idea".
I am not one of the conspiracy theorist. Our facts came from RICO cases being prepared,
hard evidence. DoD insiders watched the clean up and there were cameras set up
discreetly for that purpose - to see if anything went missing or was intentionally
covered up. The black boxes are on record, video record. The gold was there, was not
recovered during the clean up.
Those facts fit with something we know about WTC 7.

Missing Gold
A King's Ransom in Precious Metals Seems to have Disappeared
There are rumors that $160 billion in gold bullion was stored under the World Trade
Center. Yet the only published articles about recovered gold mention only around $200
million worth of gold. All of the reports of recovered precious metals appear to refer
to a removal operation conducted in late October of 2001. On Nov. 1, Mayor Rudolph
Giuliani announced that "more than $230 million" worth of gold and silver bars that had
been stored in a bomb-proof vault had been recovered. A New York Times article
contained: 2
Two Brinks trucks were at ground zero on Wednesday to start hauling away the $200
million in gold and silver that the Bank of Nova Scotia had stored in a vault under the
trade center ... A team of 30 firefighters and police officers are helping to move the
metals, a task that can be measured practically down to the flake but that has been
rounded off at 379,036 ounces of gold and 29,942,619 ounces of silver ..
Another article gave a figure of $650 million to the value of gold in the 4 WTC vault.
Unknown to most people at the time, $650 million in gold and silver was being kept in a
special vault four floors beneath Four World Trade Center. The gold and silver were
recently recovered.
An article in the TimesOnline gives the following rundown of precious metals that were
being stored in WTC vaults belonging to Comex. 4
Comex metals trading - 3,800 gold bars weighing 12 tonnes and worth more than $100
million
Comex clients - 800,000 ounces of gold with a value of about $220 million
Comex clients - 102 million ounces of silver, worth $430 million
Bank of Nova Scotia - $200 million of gold
That totals $950 million.
There appear to be no reports of precious metals discovered between November of 2001 and
the completion of excavation several months later. It would seem that at least the
better part of a billion dollars worth of precious metals went missing. It is not
plausible that whatever destroyed the towers vaporized gold and silver, which are heavy
malleable metals that are extremely unlikely to participate in chemical reactions with
other materials.
The circumstances surrounding part of the gold that was recovered offer clues to what
may have happened to the unrecovered gold. According to reports, two truckloads of gold
were found in a delivery tunnel under 5 World Trade Center in a 10-wheel lorry which had
been crushed by falling steel. The vault was under 4 World Trade Center, which was
closer to the South Tower, and more heavily damaged. There were no bodies discovered
with the lorry, suggesting that whoever was removing the gold was warned of the imminent
collapse of the South Tower. 5

The reason, said the mayor, to protect those working on a site that is a crime scene, a
disaster area, but also a burial ground. But for the firefighters, the scaling back is
being taken as a dis, especially coming after workers pulled millions of dollars worth
of missing gold and silver from the rubble.

I can't speak to the gold but I can tell you something that I witnessed that day and I
spoke directly with the people.
On 9/11, I lived just below the City on the Jersey Coast. So many of us went to the
beach becuse we could see the towers and the smoke and the collapse. I was sitting
inside at a friend's business having coffee and spoke with a 30's aged man who is
Russian. He lived in the Turtle Bay section, progressivephoenix, you know that area. His
father, who is a retired Russian diplomat called the son on the Friday before 9/11 and
told his son he and his mother would be in NYC on Sunday and to make reservations at a
hotel away from the City, that is why they were in Jersey. I sat on a bench with this
man's father and he was in shock, he told me 'if they accomplish everything they plan to
do today, your country will never be the same'. My answer to him 'You don't understand
Americans, we may differ among ourselves but we are individually and collectively a
strong people'.
The son told me that it was known that this event, 9/11, was going to occur. After
spending hours sitting with these people, at the beach and in a hotel lobby watching
what was unfolding, the mother, when the first building collapsed, came and sat next to
me and held my hand, I have no doubt that our government knew.
I am one of those people who paid to see Fahrenheit 9/11 and then bought the movie. I
watched GW sitting in the chair in that classroom in Florida, his focus on a goat. SAD
I will never believe that we have been told the truth about 9/11!

Slow but Steady Progress Amid Ground Zero Rubble
Precision spurs cleanup efforts
By GREG GITTRICH Daily News Staff Writer
ilthy 18-wheelers idle along Trinity Place awaiting orders over crackling radios before
rolling past baby-faced National Guardsmen into the mountain of steel and concrete. Up
the street, a battalion of brawny hardhats and firefighters is methodically removing an
estimated 1.2 million tons of debris, including 300,000 tons of structural steel.
Mayor Giuliani expects the cleanup of the World Trade Center site alone to take a year.
Those overseeing the work say it could be longer. No one really knows for sure. The
monumental task is a mixture of precision and impromptu invention. "There is no
guesswork going on," said Daniel Hahn, an engineer for Mueser Rutledge Consulting
Engineers of Manhattan. "Flexibility is the key word to describe what is happening."
The operation is being coordinated by the city Office of Emergency Management; the city
Department of Design and Construction manages the construction companies. The Fire
Department is given wide deference. "We have reached a point where it is possible to
determine the next steps that need to be taken," said Lee Benish, an executive for Amec,
a London construction company supervising a quarter of the disaster area. "But we are
still overwhelmed by a daily confrontation with the dead."
Clearing the Streets
West St. - unrecognizable and buried under six stories of smoldering rubble in the days
after the terrorist attack - now runs unimpeded through the cordoned-off Financial
District. To the south, Greenwich, Washington and Liberty Sts., along with Trinity
Place, are free of debris, as is West Broadway to the north and Church St. to the east.
Vesey St. is passable between Broadway and West Broadway. But it remains blocked where 7
World Trade Center and 6 World Trade Center collapsed onto each other.
Sections of the wrecked roadways, especially closer to the fallen towers, are covered
with uneven mounds of soil and capped with a crude form of asphalt. In many places,
debris, timber and steel columns from the charred towers have been placed under the soil
to distribute the loads of hulking demolition machines across a wider path. "The area
around the World Trade Center was not designed to carry that much weight," said Aamer
Islam, a senior engineer for LZA/Thornton-Tomasetti Engineers of Manhattan, which
identifies areas where paths and ramps can be carved into the wreckage.
The passageways first allowed rescue workers to venture safely into the ruins. They now
are crucial to the unprecedented cleanup and recovery effort. Backhoes, bulldozers,
excavation machines, flatbed trucks, dump trucks and all-terrain vehicles that look like
souped-up golf carts come and go constantly. There is so much activity that construction
workers stand at intersections directing traffic. "Sometimes we make six to seven trips
a day," said trucker Luis Torres, 39, who hauls debris from the site. Each morning,
truckers line up at a checkpoint on Trinity Place below Rector St.
Straight ahead is the mostly cleared southeast corner of the site and what's left of 4
World Trade Center. Somewhere buried under the building is a vault containing more than
$200 million in gold and silver bullion belonging to the Toronto-based Bank of Nova
Scotia and its clients. Bank officials say they aren't worried that someone might steal
the precious metals. "We have every reason to believe that the contents will be
recovered," said Ann Wales, a bank spokeswoman. Security was increased after 250 tons of
scrap metal were illegally whisked to two sites in New Jersey and one in Long Island. A
grand jury is probing possible Mafia involvement in the theft.
Now, along the four-block drive into Ground Zero, truckers say they can be stopped as
many as three times by soldiers or police. "They are keeping an eye on us," said Brian
Stafford, 41. At the corner of Liberty and Church Sts., the truckers join a parade of
ironworkers, carpenters, welders, demolition specialists and crane operators. They move
into the Concourse Plaza along a path cut through rubble near a still-standing sliver of
the south tower. Along West St., similar hilly trails lead to The Pit, a crater by the
fallen towers, and The Pile around it. A 20-foot-wide, 300-foot-long ramp is being
constructed on top of steel columns 4 feet above the rubble around Building 6. A
towering crane will be anchored to the makeshift causeway and used to clear Vesey St.
and yank down the remains of Building 6 and the north tower.
About 1,200 construction workers toil at the site in 12-hour shifts. They work for four
contractors - Tully Construction, Amec Construction Management, Turner Construction and
Bovis Lend Lease. Each company manages a quadrant. Just inside the perimeter of the
disaster area are an equal number of laborers wearing credentials from the Office of
Emergency Management. They wash windows, scrape ash off parking garages with snow
shovels, lower garbage bags of debris down from rooftops and mop up asbestos-tainted
dust.
Thousands Work Together
Hundreds of firefighters, police and National Guardsmen add to the mix. In all, city
officials say, roughly 3,000 people can be toiling in the restricted zone at any one
time. For weeks, some of them have been climbing underground through ventilation shafts
and emergency stairwells to survey damage to the seven-story basement below the Trade
Center.
When the towers fell, debris ripped through the basement floors, falling as far down as
the PATH station floor 60 feet below.
"Part of the station is collapsed," Hahn said.
The basement floors were designed to support a 3-foot-thick retaining wall that circles
the Trade Center to keep out the Hudson River. Portions of the wall, known as a bathtub,
or slurry wall, are held in place only by debris. "The condition of the slurry wall is
our biggest concern right now," Hahn said.
Although the Trade Center basement is flooded, the water appears to be coming from
broken pipes, clogged sewers and fire hoses - not the river. Engineers have plugged the
southern tube of the PATH station and are closing the northern tube to stop the water
from draining into the Exchange Place station in New Jersey.
Crews also are digging 24 wells, along West and Liberty Sts., to pump water out of the
soil around the bathtub and reduce the pressure against the wall, Hahn said. The water
table around the Trade Center is only 3 to 5 feet below ground. Engineers hope to lower
it to 10 to 15 feet. "They are essentially pumping the river, so it's going to be a lot
of water," said Dan Cuoco, a managing principal engineer for LZA/Thornton-Tomasetti
Engineers.
On the plaza, firefighters continue to douse hot spots as cranes swing overhead and
raise heavy steel beams with hooks and cables. After each piece is lifted, rescue
workers dash into the new hole and look for human remains. It is slow going, but William
Harris, a subcontractor for Tully, said excavation crews have started to burrow
carefully under the plaza to inch toward portions of the bathtub.
So much rubble has been hauled away that onlookers at the corner of Broadway and Dey St.
can gaze across the site and see the smashed western wall of the Winter Garden Atrium.
When the planes crashed into the towers, chunks of the skyscrapers smashed through the
top of the glass atrium. The collapsing towers then rolled violently into the valley
between the atrium and Building 3, where American Express had its offices. A pedestrian
bridge over West St. was demolished. "If you look at the Winter Garden from the river,
it looks fine," Cuoco said. "The debris actually was holding up a part of the atrium."
'Absolute Miracles' at Work
Each truck leaving Ground Zero carries between 10 and 30 tons of steel or concrete.
Heading south on West St., the cargo is blasted with high pressure hoses to cool the
rubble and wash off layers of ash. Near a checkpoint where "Fort Apache Outpost" is
spray-painted in yellow on a brown tarp hung like a tent, soldiers check truckers'
manifests. The paperwork helps the city measure how much debris has been removed.
As of Thursday, 279,821 tons of rubble had been carted off, including 46,376 tons of
steel. "They have performed absolute miracles in the way they have removed debris," the
mayor said. Concrete and debris go to Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island. Structural
steel is taken by barge to a Port Authority pier in Brooklyn and then on to two
recycling companies in New Jersey.
Although some trucks zip through the Battery Tunnel to Staten Island, many more drive to
marine transfer stations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. On an average day, about 4,500 tons
of debris and steel are removed by barge; an additional 2,000 tons are carried off by
truck, said Martin Bellew, the city's director of waste disposal.
The Sanitation Department is using 49 garbage scows to take debris by barge to Fresh
Kills from transfer stations on Hamilton Ave. in Brooklyn and W. 59th St. in Manhattan.
In addition, Weeks Marine has two cranes loading barges at Pier 25 in Tribeca and
another set filling scows on Pier 6 in lower Manhattan. The Cranford, N.J., company has
28 barges in the water - 13 of its own and 15 on loan from the city, said George
Wittich, the company's senior vice president.
"The entire process is extremely dynamic," Wittich said.

emergencies, including natural disasters like hurricanes or floods, and terrorist
attacks. The 50,000 square foot center has reinforced, bulletproof, and bomb-resistant
walls, its own air supply and water tank, beds, showers to accommodate 30 people, and
three backup generators. It also has rooms full of video monitors from where the mayor
can oversee police and fire department responses. It is to be staffed around the clock
and is intended as a meeting place for city leaders in the event of an act of terrorism.

some of this is being transported through the basement this morning. Several weeks
later, recovery workers will discover hundreds of ingots in a service tunnel below WTC
5, along with a ten-wheel lorry and some cars (which were, presumably, transporting the

discover large amounts of gold and other precious metals stored below the ruins of the
WTC. As debris is removed they are able to access parts of the 16-acre WTC basement,
which drops 70 feet below ground level. Precious metals are stored in numerous vaults
within this area. The London Times says the quantity of these "has been a carefully
guarded secret," but estimates $750 million of gold and silver in vaults belonging to
the Comex metals trading division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. There appears to
have been an attempt, since 9/11, to break into a Comex vault containing $200 million of
precious metals belonging to the Bank of Nova Scotia. A government official involved in
the recovery work says, "It looked like they used a blowtorch, a crowbar," but a bank
spokeswoman denies there has been any attempted break-in. The banks later states that
"All of the silver, gold, platinum, and palladium stored in its vaults at 4 World Trade
Center" has been relocated to a depository in Brooklyn. Other gold is discovered in a

New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani angers firefighters when he decides to severely
reduce the number of them that can search for remains at Ground Zero. Until now, up to
300 firefighters at a time have been involved in the search and recovery effort.
Giuliani's decision will mean no more than 25 at a time can do so in future. The
International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) later alleges that, also at this time,
Giuliani makes "a conscious decision to institute a 'scoop-and-dump' operation to
expedite the clean-up of Ground Zero in lieu of the more time-consuming, but respectful,
process of removing debris piece by piece in hope of uncovering more remains." So far,
the bodies or remains of 101 firefighters have been recovered, out of the 343 who died
at the World Trade Center on 9/11. According to the IAFF, the mayor refuses to even meet
with local union presidents about the decision. Due to the ensuing public outcry,
Giuliani will modify his policy and allow firefighters back on the pile at Ground Zero.
The remains of another 113 firefighters will subsequently be found. The IAFF later
alleges that "the mayor's switch to a scoop-and-dump coincided with the final removal of
tens of millions of dollars of gold, silver and other assets of the Bank of Nova Scotia
that were buried beneath what was once the towers" (see

mayor in 1994, he made preparing New York's response to a future terrorist attack a
