entity, their own act of war would be considered a grievous war crime.
John F. Kennedy and Operation Northwoods (1962)

documents now confirm that the Chairman and U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff
planned and approved a 1962 "false flag operation" under which aircraft
painted with the insignia of the Cuban air force would bomb a U.S. ship.
Violent terrorism would be unleashed in specified areas of urban America
(including Miami and other Florida cities, and Washington, D.C.) by U.S.
department of defense agents posing as "Cuban terrorists", killing
potentially hundreds if not thousands of innocent American civilians going
about their daily lives. The purpose of this false flag operation,
designated Operation Northwoods, was to provide a legal pretext and mobilize
the media and public opinion for an illegal invasion of the island of Cuba
by the U.S. military.
Operation Northwoods would have gone ahead were it not for the veto of then
President John F. Kennedy (1961-63). General Lyman L. Lemnitzer,
Eisenhower's hold-over appointee as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, presented
an approved Operation Northwoods to Kennedy's Secretary of Defense Robert
McNamara on March 13, 1962. McNamara presented Operation Northwood to
President Kennedy, who vetoed the Pentagon-approved false flag operation
against the American homeland and innocent civilians.
Lyndon B. Johnson & the Gulf of Tonkin resolution (1964)
We now know that a major U.S. escalation of the Vietnam War (1959-75) was
