The second King of Rome (700 BC) created the "Collage of Pontiffs" shortly thereafter he created the office of "Pontiff Maximus" .
"Pontiff" means "Bridge" as in "Bridge to the gods" , Mars, Jupiter, Venus, etc. (these gods were actually names of Demonic / Satanic Spirits)
Rome had 25 major gods and 250 minor gods, the "Pontiff" (or (Pope ) was the "Bridge" or "the way to these gods".
When Yashua-Jesus-Issa came in 1 AC he said there was only one God (The Maker and Creator of everything there is).
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 (KJV)
This was in direct opposition to the underlying spiritual powers that were operating and motivating Rome as well as the Pharisee Jews.
That's why the Pharisees decided to get rid of Jesus in 33 AD.
Yet the Truth (Light) that Jesus ushered into the world eventually drove out the darkness that Rome and the Pharisees were founded on.
In 300 AC, as the priests of the "Pontiff Maximus" complained that their temples were empty, their coffers were bare, and the people were mocking them, Constantine engineered a face lift... a revitalization of the pagan system, by decorating it with the trappings and covering it with a thin veneer of Christianity, all while retaining it's satanic core.
As a hunter fashions wood, and paints it to look like a duck, and as ducks are attracted a pond because it looks like a safe place, so did Constantine create a satanic trap for those who sought the truth of the one true God.
This new business model worked well from 400 AC until the creation of the Gutenberg Press in 1450, wherein Bibles were printed and the "Roman Empire's, Phony, Catholic Church, Agency" (the new vehicle for the satanic Pontiff Maximus) became exposed to the Light of Truth, and thus found itself in a similar situation to the one it was in 300 AC.
The "Pontiff Maximus" (Satan's Earthly Agent) was losing his grip on power.
