Speech at the Vermont State House
The following is the text of Craig Hill's speech given to an antiwar gathering on the
Vermont (US) State House lawn on 25 September 2004:
By way of introduction, I'm Craig Hill and I'm on the November ballot as the Green Party
nominee for the United States Senate from the state of Vermont. Now, before any of you
roll your eyes and complain, "O, how can he be running for Senator Patrick Leahy's
Senate seat? Pat is such a good guy," I'm here to tell you that the reason I'm running
for that seat is that we must do better, and can do better, in stopping this war in
general, by stopping Bush altogether in particular.
If you vote for the status quo, and by that I include Patrick Leahy, expect a
continuation of the status quo. I would not, unlike Pat Leahy, have voted to commend
George W Bush for his leadership in the war on Iraq, as Pat Leahy did 18 months ago. I
would not vote like a sheep with the rest of the so-called opposition party in the
Senate herd to pass 25, 50, 100 billion dollar appropriations for the prosecution of
this war, as Pat Leahy has done again and again.
If you vote for the status quo, expect a continuation of the status quo.
I would however organize enough of the Senate to block appropriations for this and the
future wars Bush and his gaggle of pirates have on the drawing boards; you need only 41
in the Senate to block the blood money that goes to the gravy train of death that is our
military-industrial complex. Not money supporting the troops, who are the front-line
victims of this piracy and control of Iraq's energy riches.
By the way, did you know that the bill that became the Help America Vote Act was pushed
through the supine Democratic-controlled Senate by lobbyists from the gravy train of
death itself, Northrop-Grumman and Lockheed-Martin? Now, what's in touchscreen voting
machines, which lack a paper trail, for them? A bigger pro-war majority in Congress,
perhaps? Elected by fraudulent touchscreen votes to insure their war cry: Four More
Wars! Don't be surprised in November if the whole country turns into one big Florida.
The Mutha Of All Stolen Elections.
And prepare yourselves and spread the word that a terrorist attack may precede the
election. As Ashcroft and Rumsfeld have been guaranteeing us, an attack bigger than on
9/11 is coming, they've been saying, perhaps biological or chemical or nuclear: Ask
yourself why the Buscists lifted the no-fly zone over nuclear power plants 12 days ago,
in the face of this pseudo-war on terror? Either they know there's no need for
"homeland security" because they know there are no terrorists to fear outside of their
circle of friends, or they desire a terrorist attack, a third Pearl Harbor, so they can
get elected because of it and attack more nations and attack more of our civil
liberties, our freedom, our Bill of Rights, and control us as underpaid slaves in their
successful war on the middle class; or, the third possibility---they're incompetent.
There are no other possibilities for them to have lifted the no-fly zone above nukes.
Either way, they don't deserve to be in charge, and in fact had to usurp the last
election to take charge.
Now, as to the question of their incompetence, there is a certain imbecility in the high
ranks of their leadership. Because, you see, you have to be really stupid---to be a
fascist. Or, as I prefer to call them, Buscists---American Fascists. And
Buscism---American Fascism. Despite that obvious mental flaw, I don't buy the
incompetence theory as to why they've lifted the no-fly zones over nukes at all. In
fact I don't like "theories". Like the official conspiracy theory we and the world have
been force-fed by the media, which not coincidentally did everything necessary last time
around for Bush to take office---as a hostile business takeover, which is what it was.
The official conspiracy theory is that a man in a cave in Asia pulled off 9/11, the
catalyzing event that allows for these big money-making wars. $1.4 billion to George W.
Bush Senior and the Carlyle Group alone. How ever did Osama keep our air defense
grounded for 1 hour 51 minutes, an air defense second to none, which had performed
swiftly and carefully 67 separate times in the 12 months prior to 9/11 in surrounding
and escorting wayward aircraft flying outside their flight paths? 67 times from
9/11/2000 to 9/10/2001, but which failed so completely on 9/11. Osama didn't do that.
And neither did Saddam. Bush and his gaggle of warmongers were responsible for that.
The question is whether they allowed it or orchestrated it. The entirety of our air
defense was not out for coffee and donuts for 1 hour and 51 minutes that morning. The
9/11 Commisssion says our air defense was confused. I'll tell you where the confusion
lies, it's that the Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission, Philip Zelikow, was a
former aide to Condeleeza Rice, and so directed it to the conclusions it reached:
Whitewash. No, not Whitewater: Whitewash. Ask any family members of the victims of
9/11 how that commission refused to ask the questions the family members wanted answers
to, but didn't get.
Now, I have put together a 25-minute video detailing what I will tell you bluntly was
treason against the People of the United States of America on 9/11. I call it "Treason
Inc". Which is not only a description of their behavior since the day the
Anarcho-Republican Supreme Court stole the election for the Buscists, "Treason Inc", as
in "Murder Inc", the old 1950s term for the Mafia in America---and my apologies to the
real Mafia for borrowing that term from them. The traitors populating and infecting our
government are much, much worse. At least in the real Mafia, there is some sense of
honor, so the novelists tell us. There is no honor with the scum we know as the Bush
administration.
I like to say that treason is like botulism: Expose it to oxygen and it dies.
And so I put together this video, Treason Inc, which also is a sentence complete unto
itself: "Treason Incorporated". Which is what this govenment consists of, corporate
rule, a.k.a. Fascism. Henceforth to become better known, I hope around the world, as
Buscism. This video details how the botulism known as the Bush government committed
over 35 separately identifiable acts on 9/11 against the people of the United States,
any one of which qualifies as an act of treason punishable by death, according to Title
18, US Code Section 2381, but which I prefer leads to prison for this entire batch of
killers who threaten their own people and the world with more of the same. Much, much
more, I'm afraid, much, much worse, if the dauphin I call the Boy Wonder is elected. I
prefer a long life in prison for Bush et al. over the death penalty, for the simple
reason I want him, and them, to talk. And talk and talk. I don't care if it takes
years. I want them to spill their guts, for the people they've killed on at least three
continents I know of. And suffer. And they can't suffer if they've been put to death.
So I don't want them to die. I want them arrested.
That's what happens after the botulism is exposed to oxygen: Corporate government, here
and abroad, comes to a screeching halt. The jig is up. The emperor is naked. And the
only way I know to expose the hideousness of that emperor is to broadcast it over
commercial television, the touchstone everyone blindly believes in. If it happened on
TV, it really happened. If it wasn't on TV, it didn't happen.
Friends, none of it, not one scintilla of the visual evidence of the treason of 9/11,
has been on television. And for a good reason. The Buscists know that so long as they
keep their crimes off TV, they didn't happen. And once they're exposed on TV, they're
cooked. It's over. So we've got to get the evidence, the visual evidence, on
television.
This video, which I invite you to see right after this protest ends, at the
Kellogg-Hubbard Library down the road and around the corner on Main Street, has been and
will be playing on public access channels around Vermont, and soon in New York City, and
shortly after on a channel near you wherever you are. That's the only way I can think
of to get the Ideology of Treason literally arrested.
Today, public access channels; tomorrow, the networks. And satellite. In a nutshell,
that's why I'm running. To change the world. Nothing less.
I ask you for your vote, but more importantly for your eyes, and for your sense of
outrage that will not be contained once you, and everyone else affected by the sewage we
call the federal government, becomes awakened to the facts, not the theories, the facts,
that came down on 9/11. And when you do, and when that happens, corporate government
itself will fall, like a skyscraper.
I leave you with the demand I've been making for some two years now, and which on
September 2nd the NBC station in Burlington [VT] broadcast me making, and which I expect
will soon, I hope, be echoing around an awakened world:
I call for the immediate arrest of George W Bush and Dick Cheney for treason against the
People of the United States of America. [loud cheers from the crowd] Before they kill
