Hi,

In the next month we need to migrate the web site onto a different server.

One option is to migrate the web site exactly as-is.

Alternatively, this may be a good time to cut back on unused features. The current site includes a project hosting system, somewhat like Bitbucket. The original idea was that Toscawidgets projects would be hosted here, and indeed there are about 30 repositories on there. Only a handful of these are in any way active, and I wonder if those would be better served by a site like Bitbucket. I do find the Bitbucket experience a little slicker than toscawidgets.org. So, we could migrate the active projects to Bitbucket (or wherever) and archive the inactive ones.

If we do this, the main site can focus on downloads, documentation, and the widget browser, which I see as the key functions.

Let me know what you think,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Just a suggestion: there probably should be a clear message on the toscawidgets.org site to explain the state of the ToscaWidgets project (eg tw1 vs tw2, etc). Also, I should mention that most of the links on toscawidgets.org do not work, which I'm sure would put off users contemplating using the package.

Cheers,

BruceC
