I have created a video tutorial for people that are having
difficulties in integrating turtoise SVN with putty in order to avoid
all those annoying username/password requests.

I think it would be a great addition to the turtoise SVN online
documentation. I don't know who is responsible for the documentation,
but the youtube video could be embeded on some of the pages, such as
these:

http://tortoisesvn.net/ssh_howto
http://tortoisesvn.net/node/35

The video tutorial can be found on this link at youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoKHoRWu4EE

Thanks,
Maximo.

Hi Maximo,

2009/6/22 Maximo Migliari <maximo....@gmail.com>

I have created a video tutorial for people that are having
difficulties in integrating turtoise SVN with putty in order to avoid
all those annoying username/password requests.

Nice tutorial, clear instructions. Some nitpicks:

- It's Tortoise, not Turtoise
- The initial steps are done in a SSH to a unix box, you may want to clarify that (there are also Windows servers out there)

Thanks for taking the time to produce the video and share it with us.

Is there any way to improve the readability of the ssh console? The
stuff in white is sort of readable but anything in blue is just a
blur. I don't know enough about youtube to know if that's even
possible.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the tips. I'll correct the mistake of calling tortoise
turtoise (I guess that was a bit stupid).
Anyhow, as far as youtube goes, I have very little control over the
quality of the output it produces. The video tutorial was made in
640x480 resolution, which as far as youtube is concerned, qualifies
for High Quality output (i.e. the little icon you click to improve
quality on the youtube player).

What I could do however, is provide the original file to the Tortoise
documentation people so they could host it on their own servers - this
would guarantee a picture-perfect presentation of the tutorial. Do
you guys know who is responsible for the online documentation?

Thanks,
Maximo.

We can't host such large files on our server - bandwith would cost us
way too much. Sorry.

What about using http://www.vimeo.com/ instead of YouTube? The basic
(i.e. free) account only allows for uploading one HD video per week, but
it should be enough for this video here...

How about just posting a text file somewhere? I would love to know the answer...

You can watch the YouTube video... it is clear enough to get the instructions.

My company firewall blocks YouTube.

How about showmedo.com?

Just a learning only site, my company does not block it.
