Hello!

I'm doing my masters degree in anthropology and for my thesis I will be writing about urban agriculture in Toronto. I am trying to find people to talk to who are involved in urban growing who wouldn't mind speaking to me and maybe showing me their garden/plot. I'm really interested in finding out the impact urban agriculture has on the city, and what the possibilities are for making it a greater part of the broader social fabric of Toronto.

If there is a certain time when you usually go to your plot to garden and wouldn't mind meeting me there to chat I would really appreciate it!

Thanks,

Charlotte Potter

Hi Charlotte,

I have a big back yard where I grow all kinds of organic vegetables for my family and friends. Does this fa into the category of things you are interested in talking about?

Hi Charlotte,

I have a plot in a community garden and grow organic vegetable for my family. We're actually expanding our garden if you're interested in getting to know the process with the city and the other gardeners. Feel free to contact me any time ideally before end of August.

Have a good day,

Carolina

Hi Charlotte,

I am in my second year of my own urban farm business in Toronto. I have four backyards up and running and I am in the midst of establishing a fifth. I grow to sell at a downtown area food co-op. If my business can help you craft your thesis I would gladly show you around the yards.

Sincerely,

James

Hi Charlotte,

I live and work in Scarborough. Though we don’t have a farm location in Toronto just yet, we hope to by October.

Currently we have locations in Milton and Cornwall with additional urban farms scheduled for opening in 2015 in Toronto, St. Catherines, Ottawa and Belleville.

We are urban farmers growing and selling locally using hydroponic container farms.
