So im looking to try and add another extruder to my um head.
One problem i think ill run into is the heat transferring from one heating
block to another, thus making readings off. The setup will be 2 alum
blocks, about 1.5 mm apart. Is there a material i can put between the two?

Canadian tire has some, they are used for Auto body repair. It is a fabric
that is made of glass stands. And glass has a very high melting temperature
about 3000c, I think, don't quote me. Don't buy the resin, it is just a
binder, use it straight.
Look it up on youtube, Fiberglass cloth or matt, you will know what it
looks like.

Will this work on the HBP? If so, how many layers? I have been trying like made
to get some insulation for the bottom of my bed, and an aluminum plate.

Do you (or anyone else) think this is appropriate or is there something better
suited? Is aluminum (of what thickness) enough?

I don't know what Hpb is... Fiberglass will not melt. Ask you have to do its
find a way to attach it to the surface you want, preferably mechanically.
For layers, however many you need or you can fit in there. Btw, Fiberglass will
make you itch, so wear gloves or something

That is exactly what I have been searching for. Where did you get it? I must
admit though that I have not asked for pipe wrap specifically. I checked
everywhere (Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes, Rona, Jacob's, and
a couple others) and the best I have done is a small package (1 foot by 3 inches
rolled up) of the pink stuff. Have you tried, or would you recommend against,
compressing the fiberglass? Have you heard of using PTFE cooking mesh and/or
sheet baking silicon?

I'm using fibreglass pipe wrap insulation under mine.

As long as the pieces are not touching, air has a very low conductivity of
heat. plus the head will be moving around, replacing the air that has been
heated. keep it simple

The main reason I insulated the bottom of my bed was to help keep the heat
in, so the heating can have a lower duty cycle to maintain the same
temperature. While air is an excellent thermal break, heat loss
(especially with air flowing across the surface) makes it harder to keep an
even bed temperature.
