One possible option would be to do Sangria Sunday at Nirvana which was
suggested when we were there - only thing is now that the weather is
nice I like to spend my days playing catch in the park. Which, if
daytime works better for everyone, move forward without me! But we
could also do an early evening Sangria Sunday boardgame type thing?
That's the only option I've got off the top of my head. But yeah, we
should totally plan somethin!
Also does anybody want to go to a jays game, like one of the cheap
ones on a tuesday, I think it would be super fun to go as a group of
girls becauuuuuse it's such a total sausage fest. Might be hard to
coordinate the buying of tickets. Just putting er out there!

I am of the "Nirvana is sorta gross" school, but will gladly go if
that's the popular choice. I am SO DOWN for baseball games. In terms
of going and getting tickets, we could just meet at a certain gate and
then buy them together? Or one person could buy them in advance and
everyone could pay them? Ideas.
I am ALSO down for board games. I have just got a job and have NO IDEA
what my hours are really going to be, so I will just show up to
whatever I can show up to, I guess.

I am down for both, though Tuesdays aren't great for me so might not
to be able the game if that's when you guys go. Disgraceland also has
a million board games so that could be something we pair with sangria
if we get the urge. (and fried twinkies).

Is Nirvana kind of gross guys? I wouldn't know. i'm of the "too far
west to even qualify as west end" school :D
okay well ANYWAYS they have cheap sangria on sunday and may 6th is
really soon and may 13th is mother's day (which I will not forget this
year) SO let's say
SANGRIA SUNDAY MAY 19TH 7:30 PM
I'm also down for Disgraceland though. I'm just trying to be
"decisive"
Also I really like the suggestion of meeting up at a gate and
purchasing tickets day of. That is definitely the most do-able option
- I'm sure y'all are reliable but I have been burned just way too many
times on purchasing tickets for people BUT you can totally purchase
tickets day of. We can discuss such options more while drinking
sangria???

Nirvana isn't any grosser than other pubs like it. I worked there in my waitressing days and it was pretty clean; I get why people don't like it but it's so, so much cleaner than the green room/red room/java house despite the ownership; sorry to derail the planning conversation; it just gets under my skin when people say it's gross.. I only suggested it for our last pin-up because it's fairly central, cheap, and easy to get a table for a big group. Which can be kind of a tall order.
I love disgraceland too—happy to go there. The 19th also doesn't work for me though, because of the long weekend.

So I realize I'm kinda appearing from nowhere having lurked for awhile and now popping my head up like a Grendel in the night....
But can I say THANK YOU SO MUCH for Nirvana? I have been looking for this pub for a looongggggg time! About two years ago I was in this general neighborhood but already pretty drunk and a friend and I went here. I was delighted that they had both deep fried tofu AND beer. Sadly, as we went off wandering after this I was never able to find it again. It made me very sad and now HERE IT IS!

I also have been a-lurking (was away the last two drink-ups unfortunately!)
Has May 27th been decided? I would love to join and do the boardgames
thing...rather than the Jays game thing ;)
