gathering site / canopy.
** Sign In - Sign folks in at the TORCH canopy as they arrive.
Distribute TORCH cards and trail maps.

I can do some video (helmet etc) and photography, provided I can make
it, which I'm about 80% sure I can (had a new addition to the family
last week, so those demands come first. I am at the mercy of the
wife...).
I've really been looking forward to Crooked Creek again...

Mark,
Sounds great. We will be happy to see you on Saturday morning! You
are in for a treat at Crooked Creek, especially if we have just a
little rain before hand. It will make the trails tacky and less dusty.
The trails are fantastic and well maintained. They have a variety of
trails for all abilities, from wide open fast to tight and technical.
We will have maps printed which will show everyone where to ride and
will hopefully have enough people to lead rides for all abilities.
David and Lori up at CC are awesome hosts and are always available for
advice on where to ride and what is new with the park. Promises to be
a great time for all. We normally setup on the left side of the road,
by the trees when you drive in, but might need to locate another area
if we anticipate having a large number of riders. I will talk to Lori
and get back to the forum prior to next week. Thanks Again!
Dave

I would verify that the gates will be open to the public Friday Night. The owners live 3 hrs away from CCCP, and they both have full time jobs in Dallas. Maybe they'll be at the property Friday night....Call before you haul....940-367-3917.

I want to provide you all with some additional information on Crooked
Creek.
Park Owners:
David and Lori are two of the nicest folks you will ever meet and are
gracious enough to have TORCH out several times a year. Please take
the time to say hi and introduce yourself. If David is not busy
working on trail improvements, he will be happy to shoot the breeze or
show you some of Crooked Creeks hidden treasures. Lori is always up
for a good conversation as well.
Noise Rules:
Crooked Creek is concerned about being good neighbors and as such will
not allow bikes with excessive noise output to ride on the property.
The sound level aloud is 99 dB or less. Most 2 strokes with properly
maintained silencers will have no problem meeting this level. If you
ride a 4 stroke, we suggest you run the stock exhaust or a quiet
baffle or spark arrestor if running an aftermarket exhaust. If the
owners perceive your bike as being too loud, they will test it.
Schedule:
Several of the TORCH guys will arrive beginning around 8:00 A.M.
Whenever you arrive, just look for the TORCH banner. We will try and
notify everyone via this forum where we intend to setup. We usually
spend the first hour or two getting setup, gearing up, and greeting
folks as they arrive. Then it's off to the trails for a couple hours
of riding. Sometime around noon lunch will be served. This is a great
time to eat, talk and just hang out together. After a good lunch its
back to the trails for a few more hours of fun. Sometime around dusk,
we start loading up for the drive home. This is also a great time to
get to know folks. Please feel free to arrive and leave as you like.
Some of us will be there from dawn to dusk.
Food:
TORCH will be serving sausage wraps and hot dog wraps with the usual
condiments. We encourage everyone to bring their favorite beverages
for the day and something to share with the group (i.e. cookies,
chips, beans or your Aunt Helens famous potato salad.)
Ride Guides:
TORCH will do its best to lead a number of group rides on the various
trails. We usually run a leader and a sweeper to make sure everything
goes smoothly. We will also be taking photos and running a helmet cam
to capture video of you riding. This video will be posted on the TORCH
website. The more embarrasing moments will usually be highlighted by
slow motion or other special affect.
Support TORCH:
TORCH T-shirts, TORCH bike stickers,. TORCH car window stickers and
FOX hats will be on sale at the TORCH canopy. When you purchase one of
these items, you help to get the word out about TORCH and the proceeds
go directly to funding TORCH events and community service activities.
Trail Info:
Below is information on the various trails at Crooked Creek.
Trail maps will be provided when you come by the TORCH canopy.
All trails are marked for one way travel only (Remember to keep the
ribbons on your right).
